Letter from the Publisher

Punching above our weight, we need you in our corner

If you are a monthly supporter of Vermont Daily Chronicle or have provided financial support during 2022, this message is not for you. Except to say, once again, thank you for your encouragement and generosity.

But if you haven’t supported VDC this year, I ask you to read on.

Unlike many Vermont news media, Vermont Daily Chronicle gets no money from foundations or deep-pocketed sugar daddies. There is no-one to write the Big Check that underwrites our efforts. Advertising contributes a small percentage of our budget revenue.

I can’t say it more clearly: readers alone keep Vermont Daily Chronicle going. Without supportive readers, a paper perishes.

We try to do our part. Monday – Friday our tiny team of volunteers and Staff Of One (Me!) provide unique, hard-hitting Vermont news. Every day we stand up for free speech in our news coverage, commentary, and comments section. We like to think we punch above our weight, hitting tough subjects with questions and perspectives no other Vermont media will touch:

Diversity/Equity/Inclusion in our schools –

Trans Randolph student admits staring at disrobing girls was “retaliation”

Eight-year-old shamed in Vermont school over pronouns

Milton parents petition against school equity policy

Abortion –

Every Vermont town and city voted for ‘reproductive liberty’ Article 22

Threats to First Amendment Rights –

Pastors respond to passage of gay marriage bill

No harvest for Burlington community gardeners refusing diversity pledge

The Continuing Covid-19 Response –

Pandemic-era Medicaid benefit extension likely, officials say

21 GOP governors – but not Phil Scott – seek end to military vax mandate

Vermont Climate Change Policy

Despathy: Climate change & cobalt blood money

….And much more.

Are you in our corner?

Many voluntary Subscribing Readers contribute $9/month or $108/year. Checks may be mailed to Vermont Daily Chronicle, P.O. Box 1547, Montpelier, VT 05641. Or, you can contribute via PayPal on a monthly or annual basis.

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration,

  1. I’m retired & on a “fixed income” yet I send Guy a donation whenever I can..It’s worth it, every penny..And if I can send him a check then so can other readers..Digger sends darn near daily e-mail requests for funds yet they get massive grants & Lib Cash..They have streets named after them too, “One Way”, just TRY and comment on ANY other outlets/websites, they don’t CARE what readers think or they would ALLOW comments..Not so here! As Guy will attest, sometimes the comments are as good as the articles..Give what you can, this website is priceless..

  2. “Science adapts its theory to reality, whereas ideology adapts reality to theory.”

It’s important to financially support Vermont Daily Chronicle (VDC) because it is a supporter of reality… not ideology.

The aforementioned quote is from Mattias Desmet’s latest book, The Psychology of Totalitarianism. It lays out the playbook of the vast majority of Vermont’s media and its political establishment.

Guy Page and VDC are among the few sources of media coverage that refute Vermont’s cancerous and dominant narratives.

    Kipling wrote:

“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. To be your own man is hard business. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.”

Guy Page and Vermont Daily Chronicle shouldn’t be lonely and deserve the support of its freedom-loving readers.

    Give generously!

  3. I do not even live in Vermont anymore (moved within last 4 months) and I will continue to support Guy Page and VDC and hope other states with “real” reporters find a way to do the same……thank you Guy, I miss the green mountains but not the woke ideology running rampant dismantling Vermont and the USA
