Every Vermont town and city voted for ‘reproductive liberty’ Article 22

Every town and city in Vermont voted on Election Day, November 8 to pass Prop 5/Article 22, according to published Vermont Secretary of State town-by-town voting results

As seen on the town-by-town spreadsheet, 291,955 ballots were cast. Yes votes were 212,323; no votes, 64,239; 53 were “overvotes” (presumably voting yes and no); and on 15,340 ballots, the Article 22 boxes were left blank. The amendment enshrines ‘reproductive liberty’ in the state constitution.

Vermont is now being seen as a ground-breaking leader in legalizing abortion without any gestational limits, Planned Parenthood Executive Director Lucy Leriche reportedly said November 9.

The community most heavily in favor of Article 22 was Norwich in Windsor County, a wealthy bedroom town for Dartmouth College staff and professors and medical professionals at the nearby hospital. Voters there went about 12-1 in favor. Voting about 9-1 in favor were Burlington and the Windham County town of Putney.

Perhaps the town with the closest margin was Lowell, voting yes 166 and no 156. Irasburg voted yes 268 and no 228.

The town by town results were inaccessible to Vermont Daily Chronicle for at least two weeks, and were the subject of back-and-forth emails between VDC and the Secretary of State’s Office. However, as of this morning (and perhaps earlier), the town-by-town results were easy to access, and are printed below.

  1. First of all, I am SHOCKED at how many people think full-term abortion is fine never mind constitutionalizing it. Secondly, people think it’s normal because Roe v. Wade has been around for so long that folks think it’s just something that was legal and OK. FYI, that law was based on a lie and murder is still wrong! Thirdly, people were lied to about Article 22/Prop 5. Dems/Progs pushed that it was only about abortion (as if that isn’t enough), but what most were not told is that countless lawsuits could happen at taxpayers expense and could go on for years. Lawsuits for what you ask? Removal of parental rights in school decisions for your child. Doctors leaving state who won’t do abortions. The list could be endless and will cause much anger and heartache. There will be much regret.

  2. We look proudly at our herritage on the issue of slavery. We chose to limit our property rights. The value we placed on people prompted us not to let them be included as property. I wonder how we will look back on this period when we valued bodily intregrety, “reproductive rights” over the lives of our unwanted progeny. Will dead children awaken our consciences?

  3. And I wonder why I feel so uneasy in my town. They cast enough yea votes for a small city, yet they are merely a blip on the map. Hurray, Hurray, I’ll sleep with one eye open from this day forward.

  4. The progressives had a ton of money put into this issue with which they spread misinformation and lies. They totally ignored any of the negative consequences that could occur because of this poorly written piece of legislation.

I honestly think that the voters were mislead. I can’t believe there are this many heartless ignorant people in the state of Vermont.

  5. Sadly even once conservative Milton has gone woke. Thanks to don turncoat bringing in his low income housing along with the progressive’s inhabiting the “ affordable housing projects” .

  6. @Rebecca It was masterfully written. Masterfully sold. The misinformation was rampant and it worked. Life was outvoted by better than 50% in EVERY town in Vermont. Stunning. Only 54 towns with less than 2:1 for the amendment. And, yes, there are many ignorant (in the sense of “knowing not what they do”) folks out there.

  7. I guess this demonstrates how little the inhabitants of the Green Mountain State respect the future life of a baby. This many women and men approve of dismembering a fully developed child just prior to birth and approve of altering our constitution to do so? Glad I’m not part of that group think.

  8. What would be telling is a M vs. F voting results. Like it or not, the issue is exactly why Vermont will never again elect a prolife candidate. A woman’s or anyone else’s healthcare is not the state’s concern. Conservatives need to focus on less government and personal choice. Be it energy, free speech, home schooling, firearms and family planning. With record inflation, loss of industry, $6/gallon fuel oil and carbon tax we should have won every office. Anyone catching on yet?

  9. My town, Westminster (next to Putney), voted 1,145 to 249. That’s 78.5% in favor of Article 22. A bit more than the State average. And to be honest, although I spoke out and voted against Article 22, I still feel a sense of shame. Where do we go from here? Lord only knows.

  10. Classic. The proponents of this unconstitutional constitutional amendment flooded the airwaves and publication with blatant lies about Article 22. What they have done is kindly known as hoodwinked the public. The Article does not protect a “women’s right to choose”. Doesn’t say that. Doesn’t imply that. While the proponents may think this is what is says, they also have said that it is up to the courts to decide, so they don’t even believe themselves. Instead, they actually acknowledged that all humans have “personal reproductive autonomy” including males and children.

  11. We have been overrun by anti-life hedonists from out-of-state. We have some challenging times ahead and serious decisions to make. Is it time for moral, decent people to separate from these baby-killing hedonists? Yep! Lets figure out how we’re going to do this, folks.

  12. I’m surprised no one saw the real problem here. Our state is not filled with those who hold no value on human life, especially our children. Looking at all the towns voting overwhelming for this proved that the lovely Dominion machines used an algorithm to make it happen. I do not for one minute believe that all of Vermont is that lost, anymore than I believe that all our good candidates lost. Do not believe everything you see and hear. Vermont is being looked at very closely for fraud too. 49 states last count.

  13. Great example of how totalitarians “eat” their own. My only question is who will be next on their kill list?

  14. The more liberals abort their children the sooner they become extinct. A silver lining for every cloud.

  15. The ballots that were marked yes on Article 22 was very close to the number of mail in ballots received before and counted on Nov 8th in Williamstown.
Still, I take solace in the 461 that said No.

    Mary

    • I am very glad my God, and judge knows how I voted, despite the overwhelming connection the majority had with darkness. We know the abundance of money that had no origin in Vermont to cloud the issue with disinformation. The abundance of TV commercials that takes very little imagination to figure who funded them. The greatest shame falls to Vermonters who say they want choice, when actually the choice they voted for was slavery. Who out of ignorance they voted yes to a new article to the Vermont Constitution that has absolutely no specifics, out of design. We still heavily fine and sometimes jail someone who destroys an Eagle egg (the equivalent to an unborn baby for a human); yet we applaud killing our own offspring (fetus in Latin). That thinking is the very depth of darkness. However the World Economic Forum has already stated their design for population reduction. The Vermonters who voted yes think they got what they wanted, but actually they got played !

  16. If this doesn’t tell you that Vermont is lost I’m not sure what will. This has nothing to do with the euphemism of “reproductive rights” but more in common with infanticide. . Voting to support the murder of innocent humans in the womb – up to full term. These are lazy, despicable, morally repugnant people. These are the same people who think Capital punishment is immoral. The one’s who have “hate has no home here”. No amount of shame or guilt moves these people. It’s another sign of the slow march towards dystopia for this once wonderful State.

  17. As a former candidate, I can attest to the lack of informed consent. In other words, too many people assumed abortion rights were in jeopardy, so they decided to vote based on the messaging from the fear-mongering left-leaning press.

  18. Many slick, colorful postcards in my mailbox, logos of well known non-profits – some affiliated and connected with the medical community, selective wording displayed in bold print. The blitz was very clever, well-organized, well-financed, and intentionally deceptive. The same blitz occurred in other States as well. Virginia was the first a few years back. Welcome to the NWO, courtesy of the WEF, WHO, EU, UN, FDA, NIH, DNC, etc. They know how to deceive and manipulate the public en masse. They are masters of their witchcrafts. Epheisans 6-12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

  19. Dose any one in VT understand article 22, and what they just passed.. I never thought I would see something like this in Vt. That is legalizing murder on a baby. Think about folks, even after they are born you can still end it!! Put that on hats!!! Not impressed!! That shouldn’t of been on the ballot!!!

  20. Any correlation between the percent of Vermonters unchurched and the percent of Vermonters who voted to murder babies?

  21. I don’t think anyone who voted for this actually read what they voted for. They just threw their own rights out with the baby, placenta and the bathwater. “State issue.” Those two words are enough to signal a problem here. All those children. Especially when they kill off so many with their jabs. I know two children who have died now. 4 and 14 years old. And it’s not just that they died; it’s the trauma that their deaths have made on the other children who witnessed. Once child went to the blackboard to present and fell over dead. 25 other students saw it. Another child was outside playing with her friends they came running to the mother to say “She fell down and worn’t get up.” Horrific for everyone who was there. Then this broken little state will get a lot of revenue from this business of killing babies born and unborn. How on earth can you be a doctor and do that “Do no harm.” I guess doesn’t mean much anymore. Low information voters sucked into cleverly disguised ad campaigns. Makes one so sad. Thank you Guy Page for this newsletter.

    • This is tragic. Did these deaths occur in Vermont? These sudden deaths are not being covered by media.
