The Windham County Sheriff’s Office will be partnering with other local area law enforcement agencies to conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Windham County during the month of September.

As of August 24, Vermont roadways have seen 31 fatal crashes resulting in 34 fatalities. Of these 31 crashes, 15 operators were suspected of operating their vehicles under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both.

By conducting this checkpoint, the law enforcement agencies of Windham County work toward a common goal of keeping our roadways safe by reducing the number of impaired driving crashes throughout the state.

“If you drink, plan a sober ride home. Drive safe,” Sheriff Mark Anderson said.
