The Vermont Department of Health has confirmed the first death related to the recent storms and flooding.
Stephen Davoll, 63, of Barre City, died as a result of a drowning accident at his home on July 12. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner investigated the death, in cooperation with the Barre City Police Department.
According to media reports, Davoll lived near the Stevens Branch, a tributary of the Winooski River running through Barre, and was found dead in the river.
