Cara Rodrigues, the Wardsboro woman charged with murdering Emmy Bascom of Guilford on August 9, two days earlier had been cited by state police for disorderly conduct and released.
State police said today that on August 7, at about 6 AM, state police dispatch received a call to report a possible violent domestic situation. Upon investigation, Troopers discovered Cara L. Rodrigues (31) of Wardsboro, attempted to throw a piece of wood at her family members and pushed over a dirt bike causing damage to the bike.
Rodrigues was released with a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division, on September 13. Two days later Bascom was found dead of stab wounds on a Wardsboro logging road. Rodrigues was charged with her second degree murder and is being held pending trial.
