  1. When the High School students start paying the property taxes that fund schools, then their voices should be given creedence. Until then, their parents should be talking to them about the real world consequences of being over taxed in the state of Vermont.

  2. If the money was actually going to teachers people would be much more willing to pay!

  4. Well kids this is an ideal situation to understand economics. You can’t have everything you want unless you can afford to pay for it. Since you (students) aren’t paying you’ll have to settle for is affordable. When I was in junior high school, we had split sessions and class sizes were in the 30s per teacher. High school was nearly that full. There was no rush to build bigger schools or build unnecessary add-ons. We all turned out just fine. For those of you students working part time jobs you could donate 13% of your gross income to the school, that would give you a taste of what it’s like for your parents. 13% is the portion of my gross income that I’m taxed for education in my town.
