Restoring America’s Biblical foundations

One-day conference, Oct. 10, will feature national speakers, social scientists and  faith leaders for in-depth discussions on cultural renewal & religious devotion

South Burlington, VT – Today, the Vermont Institute for Human Flourishing (VIHF) announced details of its 2nd annual Restoring Our Faith Summit that will take place Tuesday,  October 10 at the Doubletree Hotel, in South Burlington, VT. Renowned national speakers, social scientists, and faith leaders will discuss and debate how to restore the country’s lost faith  in God, in trusted institutions and in the founding principles of the country.

In the 21st Century, the country has endured a dramatic divide as the moral truths that have  guided its history seem to have disappeared and the religious foundations that held it together for  more than two centuries have been supplanted by a secularized culture.

The one-day event will provide in-depth discussions of the social and spiritual trends in the  country and will feature world renowned leaders in culture, religion, philosophy and history. These include Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, Mary Hasson, Delano Squires, Dr. Stephen Nichols,  Mary Eberstadt, Dr. Patrick Fagan, Carrie Sheffield, Rabbi Ari Lamm and others.

“The Summit will help us to understand where we have faltered in professing our faith as people  of Jewish and Christian heritage,” said Lenore Broughton, Founder of VIHF. “After identifying  some of the quandaries besetting us, we will visit the country’s founding and what an  appreciation of Biblical teachings may still be capable of inspiring,

Recent studies indicate Americans are increasingly becoming more secular as thirty percent now  identify as agnostic, atheist or having no belief in God. The pandemic exacerbated this trend as  churches, synagogues and schools were shut down during dramatic social upheaval. Suicide rates  continue to rise in our youth as religious belief declines. Is there a connection and what can faith  leaders do to help save souls and expand the faith?

“The Summit will provide in-depth discussions on these topics and most importantly include  action plans for restoring our faith in God, in our families, communities and the nation,” said  Broughton.

The Vermont Institute for Human Flourishing (VIHF) envisions a state invigorated  by the principles and civil institutions that protect the American’s inalienable rights to life,  liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  For more information or to register to attend, please visit http://www.restoringourfaithsummit.com. 1. When they say they want to restore America’s biblical foundations, I pray they are talking about the New Testament ones where Jesus taught us not to punish people for personal lifestyle choices or drug preferences (“let him without sin cast the first stone”) rather than what you find in Leviticus & Deuteronomy!

  2. Each Believer in Jesus Christ has a duty to spread the Gospel, the Good News of Salvation to All who will hear! In Prayer, Writing, Telling, Showing, Doing, all in the Spirit of the Lord advances the Gospel. When one is Saved, the Fruit of the Spirit will produce good works. Do not let evil overcome you Brethren, rather Persevere and endure to the end to spread the Good News of Salvation to All. Plant the seeds of Salvation and God will do the rest. Believers are the body of Christ, whether you gather in a building or not. Jesus belongs to the whole world! 1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
