Police seek thief riding 3-wheeled tricycle

Vermont State Police were informed by numerous tips from the public that a suspicious male was seen riding an adult-sized tricycle, with a wire basket behind the seat, from house to house on Vermont Route 30 in the Addison County town of Cornwall.

The male was captured on surveillance video cameras (seen below) at 2:21 AM, rummaging through many unlocked vehicles, and leaving a residence on a tricycle. The suspect is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall and was wearing a light colored baggy jacket, with dark colored pants.

The suspect would park his tricycle (similar to illustration at left) on the shoulder of the roadway, search any and all unlocked vehicles that were parked both in driveways and unlocked garages, return to the tricycle and pedal it to the next residence, repeating the process. Among the stolen items were loose change, designer sunglasses, wallets, purses, cash, credit cards and a set of house keys.

The male remains unidentified at this time, any assistance in the identification would be much appreciated – call the Vermont State Police at 802-388-4919.
