Targets are two Immigration and Customs facilities in Williston
By Michael Donoghue, Vermont News First
A proposed week-long effort in Vermont to try to shut down national operations for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Williston began to organize locally on Sunday afternoon.
A series of protests and gatherings are planned throughout this week as part of “Shut Down ICE VT” to disrupt two ICE facilities in Vermont, but the protesters may not see too many government workers. ICE has reportedly encouraged their employees to work from home or remotely this week.
The Law Enforcement Support Center at 188 Harvest Lane and the National Criminal Analysis and Targeting Center at 426 Industrial Avenue are the two primary targets for the protesters this week.
The protesters have been recruited from along the east coast to come disrupt ICE operations, organizers have said.
The ICE operations are in private buildings that have space rented to other tenants.
It is unclear what steps the Vermont Department for Children and Families, some medical offices and the Simply Divine Café, which also are part of the White Cap Business Park at 426 Industrial Avenue, have undertaken for their employees.
Organizers are hoping to get local businesses, organizations, unions and individuals to say they will not provide goods or services to the ICE Surveillance centers in Williston.
The protesters say they also plan to attend the Burlington Airport Commission on Wednesday afternoon to ask for its support in trying to block ICE from using the public facility to transport detainees out of state.
Col. Shawn Loan, director of the Vermont State Police, told Vermont News First on Friday afternoon he is hopeful that the protesters remain peaceful when they assemble as provided under the First Amendment.
Organizers have said they do plan to take over Harvest Lane on Friday afternoon
Organizers are using the First Unitarian Universalist Society Church at the top of Church Street as one of its prime bases of operations.
Other events are planned for the Shelburne Museum, the Rec Zone at Williston Parks and Rec and several beer places, including, Burlington Beer Company and Switchback Brewing, both on Flynn Avenue, Foam Brewers on Lake Street and Four Quarters Brewing on Main Street in Winooski.
Organizers planned to start welcoming participants at the UU Church about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. They said they hoped to share some information about the week before a meal at 6 p.m.
Chittenden County State’s Attorney Sarah George has refused to prosecute most of the recent anti-ICE activists who police said trespassed on private property and refused to leave on a handful of dates this year.
Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark, who has concurrent state jurisdiction to prosecute crimes, has proceeded with criminal charges against 13 of the trespassers.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Vermont also gave notice last week that it is charging five defendants, including four that have been arrested multiple times at the ICE facility on Industrial Avenue.

My name is Brian Judd. I am an Independent Candidate for Vermont Governor November 2026. If elected Governor on Day 1 I will contact the Trump Administration and let them know I have enacted a state of emergency and I have taken command of the Vermont National Guard. The Guard will act as crowd control of protesters to keep them from interfering with ICE Officers carrying out arrests for illegal aliens. That is all they will do. We still have over 5000 Illegal Aliens in the State of Vermont. The Vermont State Police will be present to make arrests of any Protesters that break Any Vermont Laws. That is all they will do. This Illegal Alien problem is fixable. God did not create this problem. This is not a Natural Disaster. Woman and Man created these problems, Woman and Man can fix them. You just have to have the will. I have the will and I will show you if I am elected Governor. Thank you. GOD BLESS YOU, GOD BLESS THE STATE OF VERMONT AND GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Mr. Judd, say what you want about Phil Scott being not a real conservative, but you have to realize that a real conservative is NOT electable in present-day Vermont. Your efforts at pushing Vermont to the right are commendable, but the end result of your candidacy is making it a little easier for that interloper Janoo to be elected, which would be an unmitigated disaster. Phil Scott is doing what he can to play defense against a moonbat-infested legislature and lobbying infrastructure, which is about all that he can do when the majority of Vermont voters are self-hating white imbeciles. PLEASE end your candidacy, and for the real benefit of Vermont’s future, run for a legislative seat some time in the future.
Mr. Judd failed to get elected to City Council in Barre. He also ran for a legislative seat in Washington 3 and came in dead last. So I don’t think his candidacy is likely to throw the race to Amanda Janoo.
Hopefully they bother Ms. Clarke’s house enough so she’ll charge these demoniacs as well.
they have to go home….or we prosecute & jail them….sez me.
Thank you, Mike Donoghue for posting the names of businesses which will be hosting events, presumably by actively lending their own support for “the cause” of obstructing the cleansing of our country of those who are not supposed to be here. They will be taking their place on my personal “do not patronize” list.
If their protests turn into trespassing or other criminal acts, they need to be made to realize how they would feel if they were patients seeking treatment at a Planned Parenthood and they had to pass a gauntlet of screaming protesters blocking the entrance, demanding that the building’s owners evict that service provider. ICE is performing an essential government service, removing people from the country who dont belong here. Not everyone approves of their mission, and not everyone approves of Planned Parenthood’s mission either, but special laws are on the books restricting the rights of free expression outside an abortion provider. No such laws exist to protect the patrons of accessory businesses and offices sharing a building with ICE from unruly mobs.
The hypocritical moonbat protestors’ response to that is “ICE is killing people”. ICE, like any responsible law enforcement entity only kills when threatened with deadly force, and they only target threatening individuals, not the innocent unborn. (disclaimer: I am pro-choice)
This is why we have people like Phil Scott governing our state, because we have weak people running for office who will listen to people like you, who helped create Phil Scott and will abandon their race. I will not do that because I am not weak. I am in this for the long haul. If am not elected Governor I will go to Montpelier for the next 2 years and fight the good fight as a Citizen. Then I will run for Governor again. Thanks for the inspiration Rich…
I don’t know what’s worse, ICE protestors or drunk ICE protestors.
We are in agreement that breweries are an odd sponsorship for these radicals…
Or maybe some DUI checks at strategic locations and times!
I just want to say if you want to put a stop to this nonsense it is of Prime Importance that each and every one of you ,who has 1,2 or 3 friends, who thinks their vote does not make a difference, you must drag them, kicking and screaming, if need be ,to the polls on election day, because if you do this, and all vote GOP, even if you don’t like the candidate, this is the best chance that we have in decades, to throw out the rule, in VT ,of the progressive leftists, so please get out the vote, and throw these radicals out ,once and for all. Vote GOP straight down the ballot…even if it leave a bad taste in your mouth. Once the leftists are out… we can work out the details.
VOTE midterms …VOTE GOP!
Thank you.
No more Switchback!!!
If the out-of-staters break Vermont laws, maybe a sane prosecutor will ensure their stay in the Green Mountains is extended for justice to be served. Real justice, not racist, Marxist social justice. These immature children need to spend reflective time in a jail cell.
My question is if someone is paying for their expenses.
I agree with Rich. democrats have had a super majority since Peter Shumlin became governor. Two years ago they lost their supermajority. Because of that, the democrats have, in my opinion, worked a little more with the Governor. I don’t always agree with him , but think of where Vermont would be without him. A state that Bernie, Peter Welch, Becca Balint and their minions would have control of?
I hope they all get arrested and Charity Clark once again goes over the head of that worthless prosecutor (I use that term loosely) Sarah George. But we all know that Charity is only doing it because it is election year. I just hope that the protesters keep it peaceful and not turn it into a riot like what happened on Dorset. St
Shoot first and ask questions later. After you shoot one, the rest of them will run. Shoot a couple more in the back as they’re running and we can probably solve the problem of these protests. These troublemaker corrupt Democrats want to try to scare people into believing that we don’t need our federal agents, but they are there to protect United States from people like Democrats and illegal terrorists
