Montpelier person charged with child porn

Grace Gamble (charged as Peter Gamble), 27, of Montpelier, pleaded innocent October 9 on five felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.

The charges brought against the defendant are the result of a criminal investigation, including the execution of residential and online data search warrants, conducted by the Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (VT-ICAC), including personnel from the Attorney General’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, Montpelier Police Department, Burlington Police Department, Bennington Police Department, and Manchester Police Department.

The investigation was initiated when VT-ICAC received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual was suspected to possess images of child sexual abuse material on a Synchronoss Technologies/Verizon Cloud account. Based on the criminal investigation of that tip, the defendant was identified as the source and owner of the account that contained the child sexual abuse materials.

Gamble’s arraignment was held in Vermont Superior Court. Judge John Pacht ordered conditions of release which restrict the defendant’s access to minors and internet content.

  1. We should be taxing porn, just like they tax your movies and tv programs, it’s “entertainment.”….

Why wouldn’t they want to tax porn? Why? They want to tax the air we breath but not porn? What could possibly be the reason?

  2. Re: Grace Gamble (charged as Peter Gamble) I’m ashamed that the State of Vermont didn’t charge him under his female name. He should sue them for violating his right to be charged as a female. How else will he get to a female correctional facility.

  3. Good to see real law enforcement action (alike Sheriff Grady Judd in Florida) start plucking these monsters off. I’m sure the trail leads to many, many more. Chatter heard about operations in Northern New England and PQ – operators are standing by, watching, and collecting. The hunters are now the hunted. Happy Hunting! Get’ em all!

  4. Interesting to see the headline use the gender-nonspecific “Montpelier person charged” in the headline. The Times Argus referred to the suspect as “Montpelier woman”, which is biologically inaccurate, and used the pronoun “she” in the story. The Attorney General’s office used the term “Montpelier resident” and was careful to not use any pronoun references. I suppose it is better to walk on eggshells than to put out MISINFORMATION. Makes you wonder what is being taught in our journalism and law school these days. Of course, the most important thing is to not say or do anything that might possibly offend anyone…
