A 37-year-old Sutton man has been ordered held without bail after authorities accused him of sexually abusing a child over a period dating back to 2023.
Jordan Kidder turned himself in to the Vermont State Police on June 10 after a judge issued an arrest warrant charging him with aggravated sexual assault of a child and lewd and lascivious conduct.
According to Vermont State Police, the investigation began May 19, when troopers and the Vermont Department for Children and Families launched a joint inquiry into a report of suspected sexual abuse involving a child. Investigators subsequently sought an arrest warrant for Kidder, which was issued June 8.
Kidder surrendered to police two days later and was arraigned in Caledonia Criminal Court, where he was ordered held without bail.
Police said the alleged offenses occurred in Sutton between 2023 and the present. The Vermont State Police does not identify victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
