My heartfelt thanks to you for making this July the Vermont Daily Chronicle’s best-read month ever. It’s not often that any media sets records in the middle of the summer of a non-election year. But that is indeed what happened. It’s a testament to your interest and commitment in our unique brand of news coverage.
July 13 set an all-time daily high in both the total number of news stories viewed, and the number of visitors to our online daily newspaper.
That single day was not a one-time blip. The week of July 13 was the best read in our four years of publishing. And with four days remaining, July 2021 is the most-viewed and visited month ever.
Subscriptions also are at an all-time high. Every day, more Vermonters choose to subscribe free. Judging by your well-read, thoughtful comments, our readers care deeply about Vermont’s future.
As you’ve probably noticed, we’re once again named the Vermont Daily Chronicle. Vermont State House Headliners began in 2017 as a frustrated lobbyist’s news blog. Two years later, befitting its emerging newspaper identity, it became the Vermont Daily Chronicle. Last year we shortened the name from three words to two. But readers seemed to prefer ‘The Chronicle.’ Henceforth the name in your email inbox will say Vermont Daily Chronicle.
We continue to add new writers and news sources. By year’s end, we hope to add news staff.
To help pay for growing daily news coverage, we’ve added banner advertisers like business consultant OpEx90, as well as businesses and services in our Service Directory.
And finally, we are extremely grateful to readers who step up financially with one-time gifts of $25, $50, $108 (cost of annual volunteer subscription) and more.
