Dean, Scott positioning for guv race

By Paul Bean

Former Democratic Governor Howard Dean is considering making a run for Governor this year.

If he runs and makes it through the primary, he would be squaring off against the most popular governor in America, Republican Governor Phil Scott, who boasts an 81% approval rating. Scott said at a press conference this week that the Senate’s treatment of Education Secretary nominee Zoie Saunders has made him more likely to run for re-election.

In a statement released to the press Wednesday evening, Dean wrote:

“I am deeply alarmed by the coming fiscal crisis in Vermont…The situation in school financing is truly alarming, where a third of school budgets were voted down the first time and half of those voted on a second time have failed. We must not make the mistake which has led to so much fiscal pain in the past. We must NOT finance today’s programs by borrowing from tomorrow’s Vermonters.”

He added, “I have to say that this legislature is some ways, the best legislature I have seen in Montpelier since GOP speaker Walter Freed helped me close a huge potential budget deficit by supporting the decoupling of the Vermont income tax from the US tax code after President GW Bush cut taxes for the wealthiest Americans.”

In Governor Scott’s Press conference yesterday I asked him if he had heard of the possible “return of the Dean” and he told the crowd “I heard that, interesting, I haven’t heard from him, I don’t know if that’s true or not, but one thing I will tell you is, and you can all take this one to the bank… 24 years from now, I will not be on the ballot.” This remark drew an uproar of laughter from the crowd and served as much needed comic relief for us all during yesterday’s high tension press conference…

  1. Let’s see Vermont, you have ” Flip-Flop ” Phil, and ” Yea-Ha ” Dean, now there’s a couple of prime choices…………… We deserve better, better choices anyway !!

The circus is in town, and the clown bus is full………………………………………………………………..

  2. So, Scott truly expected compromise, cooperation, & and some concession from tyrants for whom he has catered to for the last several years??

    Sure. Keep groveling. Works well.

  3. this is like going to the circus and buying two horses and when you get home and find two jackasses in the horse trailer///

  4. My recollection is that he was a way better republican/ democrat than our rino Scott. WAY BETTER. And since the so called VT GOP will have no one closer to my conservative views then Dean, I say welcome.

  5. Choices, choices… should I go for the one who says I should vote for Biden or should I go for the other one?

Or maybe I will decide on the one who will tackle the non-profit climate change, social work and mental “health” grifters.

I know, I go for the one who doesn’t race bait! That’s it, I’m sure one of them actually likes and respects the people of Vermont.

  6. “Scott said at a press conference this week that the Senate’s treatment of Education Secretary nominee Zoie Saunders has made him more likely to run for re-election.”

So I called the governor’s office to report that one young child came home from school in Essex absolutely traumatized and crying because he weas white, as white people are terrible because they hurt black people. This poor child had an absolute meltdown and wanted to change the color of his skin. I shared this story with a state equity office employee she responded by saying “Don’t you think white children should feel the same pain as black child.” I actually do not think that any children should be subjected to emotional abuse in any setting. I then called the governor’s office and issued a formal complaint and demanded a return call. The governor, nor a representative, called me back. He didn’t make a statement at a press conference that Vermont isn’t the kind of place that supports pain being inflicted on small children.

Talk about a contradiction. He feels compelled to run for re-election to protect Zoe, but could care less about protecting five year old children from emotional trauma.

    • >>>> “Don’t you think white children should feel the same pain as black child.” <<<<<<<

That’s when you know the whole “diversity, equity inclusion” agenda is really about hate.

    • Exactly VTRocks, so basically Scott supports white people, including children, being subjected to hate and abuse, which aligns to the critical social justice agenda of the United Nations. Let that sink in. I have zero respect for this man. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

  7. Well, if Dean enters the primary Zuckerman will have a nervous breakdown after his statewide book ban crusade. The carrot farmer will be up against massive money and an establishment demigod for the Dems.

However, the Howard we all knew back in the days of his never-ending governorship is not the same man. Since he’s been hanging around the real lefties in DC there’s been a dramatic change in the country doctor. I don’t believe the carpetbaggers in the legislature would be able to push Dean around like they do with Phil.

Phil did his pandering with all those on the other side of the isle and they still push him around and throw him under the bus when they can because he failed to help republicans expand their party. He’s a man without a party and the most popular according to the voting numbers because he’s had no actual competition in his elections. The left didn’t even vote for their candidates because they were perceived worse than Scott.

It’s an interesting turn of events and a soap opera, As the Stomach Turns. Mr. Zuckerman better grow some marijuana at his farm. He’s going to need something to calm his nerves during parade season. Marching behind the Howard Dean’s instant support groupies will be stressful. I don’t have any suggestions for Phil other than try being a republican.

  8. We’ve done our time with King Howard, don’t really care to have him as governor again…..

  9. So is he going to run as a Republican, as he says he is, or a Democratic as he always sides with. I want a Republican who is really a Republican!!!

    • dean never really left politics. His time at the DNC put him with some of the most skilled grifters on Earth.
It will be interesting to see how the next legislature’s hubris fares against howard dean’s ego.

  10. Well it sounds like a lose – lose situation to me. Keep the vomit we have, or go back to our old vomit.

  11. We are in the midst of a color revolution in our country, most definitely in our state, steered by those who support and quote “build back better” which is not the Dems slogan, but the slogan of the WEF/NWO/self-declared Gods…….

Both of these candidates voted for the person rolling out the color revolution today in America, President Joe Biden.

So the color revolution, otherwise known as subversion (yuri bezmanov) or defeating the enemy without firing a shot the highest art form of war, (Sun Tzu)…….

All led by narcissists…..just as most corrupt governments through history have done.

When you get the secret Marxist decoder ring and glasses, everything becomes exceedingly clear and in perfect “harmony” as it all follows the plan. While it’s a road to suffering and despair, it’s easily defeated because it’s so predictable……

They always lose in the end, so there is that. Fear not, fear not.

  12. That’s all we need is “Screaming Howard” who is 75 years old!

  13. Like Hillary, some of these old democrats just dont know when to go away.

  14. when the post booth was at the champlain fair howard the coward sent the state police in to check out our booth/// the next ten days were a volatile ten days/// the take back vermont group caused enough activity that we were placed beside the state police booth the next year/////// those were the good old days when we had some real vermonters/// there are a few of us left that were part of that history////

  15. Vermont needs these two like you need the hole in a donut.

  16. One bird with two wings = Uniparty. Our pre-determined, pre-mediated “choices” this selection season is meat puppet D or meat puppet R. If considering meat puppet P or I or L, just know all are paid by the same owners to perform as directed – lose for a price or win for a price. They all have a price and we pay dearly for it.

  17. Didn’t Dean take the Hypocrites oath? If so, then he can not run! He’s be breaking his oath! (Wink, wink.)
