Cops seek MA teen for drug-related stabbing murder

The Vermont State Police has obtained an arrest warrant for a Massachusetts man on a murder charge arising from a fatal stabbing Feb. 6 in Pownal.

The suspect is identified as Elizah Coppedge, 18, of Chicopee. He is facing a charge of second-degree murder in the killing of Casey Gras, 36, of Bennington. A Vermont Superior Court judge in Bennington County signed the warrant this week and ordered that Coppedge be held without bail upon his arrest.

Coppedge is described as Black man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. His last known whereabouts were in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on the night of Feb. 6.

The police investigation indicates this was an isolated incident that arose from a drug-related dispute.

Anyone with information on Coppedge’s whereabouts should call their local police department or the Vermont State Police in Shaftsbury at 802-442-5421. Anonymous tips also can be submitted through VSP’s website at https://vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit.

  1. oh look another unpermitted drug dealer in the state……..we’ll let him continue business…….

if it weren’t for police out of state wanting this man, he could have a lifetime career in Vermont dealing drugs…….

  2. Would love to know how many times he’s been arrested and convicted and released for other crimes. And why are you capitalizing “black”?

    • According to the immutable rules of political correctness, Black is to be capitalized, but white is NOT. It’s part of the whole reparations thang…but according to some critics of the official policy, it serves to define white as the “default race”. I dont make up the rules, but I do feel free to ridicule them.

  3. Considering the mainscream[sic] media’s narrative word spell of the day is “bloodbath,” there appears to be a lot blood spilling (or letting) in Vermont these days. Carry on….

    • Yes, and the same pattern of drug traffickers from states to the south committing violent crimes in Vermont.

  4. just another tourist helping vermonters get the supply of needed products/// maybe the idiots in vermont are the problem/// deport the idiots and get rid of the problem///

    • You cannot deport Americans, regardless of their lack of character – or Brian Cina would not be a member of the VT legislature.

You can however prosecute & imprison them for life OR try to expel the elected ones as traitors to the Constitution.

  5. deport out of vermont/// this was done once before/// find the history on this/// also, i do not work for the pope or any other agency///

  6. The state of Vermont last performed an execution in 1954 and is not considered to be a death penalty state. There’s an important exception, however. While Vermont doesn’t use the death penalty, the federal government still does. And federal death penalty laws permit capital punishment for murder, espionage, and treason. Vermont [residents] convicted of these crimes can still face the death penalty.

Makes one wonder if a VT politician condoning Biden’s open border policy would qualify for treason, but I digress.

For all intents and purposes Donald Fell was a candidate – for a rope, the chair, the ‘juice’, what ever way you wanted to off him – but Attorney General Jeff Sessions gave him life instead of death. Jeff was later fired by Pres. Trump.

  7. Elizah Coppedge, is just another POS from one of our bordering states, he’s just up here selling his wares, and yes in his line of work there are consequences…………………

    • You are mistaken sir; he is just another native Vermonter in blackface. He was a good boy, a very good boy.
