Burlington man arrested during suspicious death investigation

A 46-year-old man is facing multiple charges following the death investigation in Burlington on Sunday.

Authorities say they were notified of a woman who was unresponsive on Riverside Avenue at around 9:10 a.m. Police say they confirmed that Amber G. Monty, 42, of Burlington, was deceased when they arrived.

Evidence at the scene led patrol officers to consider the possibility that the death might be suspicious. Police say the caller initially gave a false name and other false information. As more officers arrived, including on-duty detectives, Manuel “Manny” Francis, 46, of Burlington, was identified by his real name.

Police say he is known for nearly 100 police engagements over the past several years. He was also discovered to have outstanding warrants for aggravated assault with a weapon, disorderly conduct by electronic communication, and false public alarm.

He was taken into custody to answer those warrants.
