State Game Wardens are asking the public for information after a dead black bear was found in the Connecticut River.

On the morning of July 13, a lactating female black bear was dumped into the river from the Newbury Crossing Fishing Access Area. The bear had died from a gunshot wound.

If you have any information or saw anything suspicious near the Newbury Crossing area on or before July 13, please reach out.
