Police Reports

Not the Sharpest knife in the drawer

By Guy Page

Add another chapter to the growing volume of entertaining incident reports written by St. Johnsbury police officer Cpl. George Johnson.

Unlike most cops writing reports at the end of their shift, Johnson writes in the first person with style, humor, justice and compassion about enforcing the law in a state overrun by drugs and a hapless criminal justice system.

Here’s his latest, emailed at 10:48 PM last night.

“On 04/21/2024 at approximately 1644 hours, I was working at the Police Department when Corporal Steven Hartwell informed me that he was on the phone with a female who is at 48 Eastern Avenue and who identified herself as Annemarie Sharp. Cpl. Hartwell stated that he recognized the voice of the female to be that of (Annemarie’s sister) Krystal Sharp. Krystal Sharp had multiple active warrants (2 in Vermont and 1 from NH).  Cpl. Hartwell and I are both familiar with Krystal Sharp through multiple past police involvements.

“A subsequent check shows that Krystal Sharp has two active warrants out of the state of Vermont. One warrant issued on 07/18/2023 for failure to appear on 07/17/2023 for Pre Trial Conference (charge Vehicle Operation-License Suspended/OSC) Docket 73-12-1985.  Second warrant issued on 04/01/2024 for Retail Theft $900 or Less and for Violation of Conditions of Release Docket 24-CR-03196. A copy of these warrants will be included in this case as evidence.

“Krystal Sharp also has a New Hampshire Active Arrest Warrant out of Grafton County Superior Court with Grand Jury Indictment.  This warrant shows for “Non-appearance in Court for a(n) Dispositional Hearing on April, 2024.”  And that “The aboved-named individual is held without bail or bond. Bail will be set by the Court upon apprehension”.  The Grand Jury Indictment shows for the offense of “Controlled Drug Act; Acts Prohibited Class B Felony” “Knowingly Did Possess or Have Under her Control The Controlled Drug Fentanyl” This warrant shows issued on 04/15/2024 and is still active.

“Officer McKendrick Johnson and I responded to 48 Eastern Avenue. I observed Krystal Sharp hastily walking away from 48 Eastern Avenue and nervously looking over her shoulder. I observed Sharp notice the police cruiser and pull up her sweatshirt hood to hide her identity.

“Ofc. McKendrick Johnson approached Krystal Sharp first.  Krystal Sharp stated that her name was “Anne.”  I then said “Ya your Krystal.”  Krystal Sharp then replied “I’m My Sister!” I arrested Krystal Sharp.”

  1. Go figure, perhaps the “progressives” claim that someone could “identify” as anyone or anything they feel like wasn’t such a great idea after all. Nah…never mind… those progressives are always right! I mean, left!

  2. Volumes of paperwork on both sides of the Connecticut River. It appears neither State wishes to hold her in jail, so she ping-pongs back n’ forth with no consequences. The police get to chase her around and write more paperwork. The courts let her go with useless conditions of release paperwork. She flips off the process only to conjure more paperwork. The public defenders add her case to the stack they can’t manage, have lunch with prosecutor, decide she’s low risk, let her go again through the justice turnstyle. I see the job security and carelessness here. Our tax dollars at work!

  3. these public office holders are all college educated and they are not doing their jobs/// no one goes to jail because crime is the new big business/// when a country produces nothing this is the end result///

  4. Well, we are living in a progressive world, and a progressive state and you can be anyone or anything your ” mind ” tells you to be, so you’ve got to give Krystal credit for trying……………………………………even though she didn’t think it through !!

Vermont’s legal system is a joke, if you tried this kind of BS, and you’d get locked up in a heart beat, as you’re not really crazy, or are you ???
