  1. You can file the new bridge proposal under “soon to be completed” projects like the Southern Connector/Champlain Parkway, the dome over Winooski and the Charlotte nuclear power plant.
Get real…in Vermont you pretty much need to hire a biologist to do an endangered species study and do a stormwater impact analysis just to put up a new mailbox.

  2. 1. Lake Champlain is mostly NYS owned between Grand Isle and Cumberland Head.
    2. If a truck jackknifed in the Rouse’s Point bridge, what do you think will happen on a longer, not to mention higher, bridge?
    3. The benefit seems to be all to NY. What does VT get?
    4. Wouldn’t it be cheaper, easier, and more cost-effective to just upgrade to a new, state of the art hospital in Plattsburgh? Gotta cost less and take less time than a bridge.
    5. We have things called helicopters now. There should be a Med-Flight helicopter and crew on standby 24/7/365 for those cases that can’t be treated in Plattsburgh but can in Burlington.
