  1. Was there a difference in severity of storms and need? However, there is precedent with the Biden FEMA approvals, maybe Vermont should get a $700 check like North Carolina people with Trump signs on what had been their lawns

  2. That finger Trump gave Vermont was not a thumbs up. Comment from Richard Day.

  3. I approve of this, Trump told the governor’s to quit with sanctuary crap, DEI, CRT, men in women’s sports, etc. There would be consequences for actions. Thank your Governor / Senators for poking the Bear.

    • You’ve just described political retribution.
Retribution that affects those from all political parties.
Trump has historically shown, even before he was president that he is a petty and vengeful man. It’s a shame that his immature acts and behavior are now being used as punishment against American families. Many of whom even voted for him.
Flooding may cause insurmountable damage but at least those outcomes aren’t politically motivated.

    • Re: “petty and vengeful…. immature acts.” What does that even mean?

David Davis: Please explain what, specifically, you mean by ‘… petty and vengeful…. immature acts.’ I don’t see that Trump is restricting you from spending your well-earned money on other American families.

    • Sure H. Jay

With thanks to AI here you go:

He has a well-established history of using derogatory nicknames and personal insults to mock political opponents and critics. Some examples include Calling Sen. Bob Corker “Liddle’ Bob” during a public feud. Referring to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer as “Cryin’ Chuck”. Labeling Senator Marco Rubio “Little Marco” during the 2016 primary. Mocking Jeb Bush as “Low Energy Jeb”.

Trump has frequently called for investigations into political rivals, breaking with post-Watergate norms about the independence of the Justice Department. In recent years, he has called for investigations and prosecutions of individuals like Jack Smith and others he considers political enemies.

The former president often targeted specific journalists and news organizations he deemed critical of his administration, labeling them “fake news” and “enemies of the people.”.

Many analysts have criticized Trump for focusing on trivial or personal matters while in office, arguing it was a distraction from more important issues. For example, in 2017 he publicly criticized NFL players who protested racial injustice, attempting to jeopardize the owners’ bottom line.

In March 2025, Trump issued executive orders to sanction law firms that have represented his opponents, accusing them of “dishonest and dangerous activity”. In one case, a firm agreed to provide millions in pro bono services for the administration’s agenda to have sanctions rescinded.

Critics accuse Trump of using the Justice Department to pursue criminal investigations and prosecutions against rivals in a manner unprecedented since the Nixon era. The department, now led by Trump allies, has overseen the indictment of prominent critics, including former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Throughout his legal battles, Trump has been admonished by judges for his angry outbursts and disruptive behavior. This includes walking out during closing arguments, throwing documents, and speaking out of turn.

In October 2025, after nationwide “No Kings” protests against his administration, Trump shared an AI-generated video of himself in a fighter jet dumping what appeared to be waste on protesters on the ground. The post was widely condemned as childish and vulgar.

You might read through all this and think, “ahh who cares I like the moves he’s making.” But me, I personally expect the behavior and mindset of our nation’s leader to surpass that of a rowdy, petty, immature and undisciplined middle-schooler.

    • Re: “You might read through all this and think, “ahh who cares I like the moves he’s making.” But me, I personally expect the behavior and mindset of our nation’s leader to surpass that of a rowdy, petty, immature and undisciplined middle-schooler.”

You’re kidding, of course? Try asking your AI assistant how many times Trump has been accused of being like Hitler. Then ask it how many times Biden, or Harris, or any other Democrat has been similarly accused.

While you’re offended by middle-school playground banter on one hand, the people you apparently support pose with tee-shirted constituents advocating publicly for Trump’s assassination.

Ask your AI assistant ‘which party officials, Democrat or Republican, most often call for civil disobedience’? Ask your AI how many times Trump supporters have rioted in the streets since his 2024 re-election.

Don’t you think a little introspection to be in order?

  4. You reap what is sown. Gov Scott and “Me Too” Dame, should have known going into this exercise of applications for Flood damage reinbursement, would be a real stretch, because neither one of these two folks is a Republican. They are RINOs of the first order.
The president is a full fledged R, and so far has worked the system reflecting as much.
To Scott and Dame: You can go back to play in the Democrat sand box.

  5. Guess we’ll have to stop funding solar fields and repeatedly caring for the homeless and start fixing things.

    • I’m starting to wonder if you make certain statements on purpose to stir up people on VDC, or do you REALLY believe what you just posted?

    • Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.

    • I want to point out the hypocrisy in this forum. So quiet, commenters are, about trump supporting argentina $40 billion. Yet so happy to hear trump take away resources from americans. I’m flabbergasted and intrigued to see the words of republicans run away traditional values and move toward a huge executive branch with massive overreach, free trade down the toilet, so happy to destroy our relationship with canada. This forum has been an education in how the malleable the minds of people are when confronted by a strong man. How quick people are bend the knee. Thank you for participating in the destruction of the republican tradition. I have turned into a troll, yes. I’ve reached peak: wtf has become of the republican party.

    • Re: “…do you REALLY believe what you just posted?

Does it ‘really’ matter what Rosato believes? I think it’s more important that we all focus on what we can learn, and then take the opportunity Rosato presents to publish the facts.

If Rosato’s rants incite research and discussion, it is all for the better. Call him out. Ask him if there’s a difference between giving ‘all’ of our money away to one country and a limited contractual loan obligation – with the understanding, of course, that his retort will be a typical, far left, word salad.

As I said in a previous comment. “Postscript: I don’t have to discredit Rosato. He does just fine of his own accord.”

But, unfortunate as it may be, the extent to which Rosato’s incongruous rants are more numerous than those of any other VDC commenter I’ve seen recently, is disconcerting, to be sure. I can’t keep up with them all. But when I can, I do. And I hope other VDC readers do the same.

    • So how about it: Anyone want to actually tackle the Argentina money? Or are you just so happy that VT gets less? Why you all want vermonters to suffer is something I hope to never understand. We will not get $40 billion + from argentina in return for trump’s generosity. However, as you gloat about not giving money to vermonters and cheer on as our soybean market collapses, your dear King is going to resort to handouts to farmers. Which is what you all voted for, right? Government handouts and higher taxes. Welcome to the new republican party.

    • Re: “So how about it: Anyone want to actually tackle the Argentina money?”

Come on Rosato. I’ve been there, done that, got the tee shirt. You don’t have the ‘knowledge’ base to ‘understand’ the difference between a pure giveaway and a targeted strategic contractual loan.

Rosato’s a case study: his “peak troll” zinger was a near-miss at self-reflection, but without that organic thud, it’s just more noise distracting from reasonable VDC commentary. Is he looking for answers, or just doubling down on the noise? No cajoling required — Rosato will see it as just another oppressor ploy. He’s too deep in the dopamine loop, trolling for validation, not answers.

    • H. your inflated ego runs across this forum with the words of AI generated posts. The frequency with which you boast about your own genius speaks more to your insecurities; as well as your self-elected position as moderator of ‘facts’. So bizarre is that you think other countries pay tariffs, rather than american importers. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

  6. David, was it okay when Biden did it though? Closing churches, forcing vaccination, making small businesses go belly up? Silencing conservative Christians? Antivaxxers? Silencing parents trying to protect their kids from indoctrination? Trump is steering the ship in at least a moral direction.

    • I don’t think denying any appropriate financial assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency is necessarily steering the ship in a moral direction.

That money wouldn’t been used to repair public infrastructure that was damaged during the July 2025 flooding. That flooding mainly impacted small communities in the Northeast Kingdom. The state recorded more than $1 million of damage in the town of Sutton alone. A town in which Trump won by a comfortable margin in 2024.

  7. Well David, I suppose the people of Sutton should contact our Governor and our eversohelpful Senators. See if they can explain why funding was denied. This was projected to happen months ago. Blame Trump if you want, everyone does.

  8. Not to mention David, Tru.p had all of the Governor’s at a meeting and explained his intentions. Choices made, consequences dealt. Unfortunately, our States actions have affected the people. Look around, they make lots of dumb choices on our behalf.

  9. Thanks to political grandstanding, politics are weilded as weapons against the People. Is this bs why we vote? It matters not that qualifications for aid are met, it only matters who is loyal to Pompous Potus Pious Pilate? The obstructionists met their match by their own deeds done down and dirty. What matters to them is checking the box indicating you are not a citizen? Who ultimately pays the price for all this fraud and corruption? We, the People. All the collateral damages mounting was/is calculated in their vicious, reprehensible game theory. They know exactly what they are doing and they are on the same team. Do not be deceived by their manipulations – they eat from the exact same hog trough, together, united as one unified party of sychophants.

  10. Everyone- just stop relying on other people to pull us/you out of a mess. Make a plan/Plan ahead, pull yourself, your neighbors, your Vermont up and focus on how to go forward. Obviously the leaders are not doing a great job because they are human and there is tons of politics surrounding every decision. Take responsibility and stop complaining. Hold fundraisers, write letter to your representatives, run for office, place a US flag sticker on your car, volunteer at a farm, pick up trash, dress up in a cow costume and wave a sign on the road.

  11. Bailout for Argentina and screwed the mid west farmers out of soybean contracts with China and now wants to import beef from Argentina to the United States. Now is Argentina selling soybeans to China??? One person that posts on this website may be correct on his opinion that Trump is bailing out his investment friends in Argentina. The future will expose the truth. Comment from Richard Day. Note that this will do damage to the American farmers whom are beef producers.

    • From a previous post: ‘…you’re catching on. Argentina will be able to pay back the loan from the U.S., plus interest, in American dollars, because China will buy soybeans from Argentina, while Trump takes tariff money, plus the interest from the Argentine loan, to help U.S. soybean farmers over the short term, while the U.S. gets inexpensive soybeans locally, and while the U.S. and Argentina’s economies improve.”

      ‘The Art of The Deal’.

    • H. J. your hubris gets in the way much too often. I can’t believe that you are cheering on trumps desecration of american farmers to benefit argentina so that we can make interest on a loan, which argentina will unlikely be able to pay back. Your logic is of the ‘take from peter to pay pau… argentina.’ The US should not support argentina. Milei made his bed, now sleep in it. You probably are also on board with trump rescinding the “loan” if Milei’s party loses in the upcoming elections. Even though trump claims he is trying to help the people of argentina, he really only wants to help milei.

    • And still, not one fact considered while trolling for validation instead of answers.

Paraphrasing The Toll of the Troll
“In the northern village of Svartvik, where pine trees hissed like whispering ghosts and frost kissed every doorstep, the children spoke in hushed tones of The Troll Beneath the Stone Bridge. For centuries, the moss-draped crossing had arched over a narrow ravine that the villagers dared not pass by moonlight. They said a troll, ancient, warty, and wise in riddles, lived beneath it, and that anyone who failed to answer its questions vanished forever into the fog. None had crossed safely since the herder Jorund, three winters past, whose boots were later found on the bridge, feet still in them.”

The troll snarled now. “Too clever by half.” He leaned forward, breath like spoiled milk. “Last one: The more you take, the more I leave behind. What am I?”

Erik hesitated. His fingers twitched. Then he stepped back and smiled. “Footsteps.”

The bridge rumbled beneath him. The troll hissed, but rules were rules, even for monsters. He slumped, growled a curse in Old Norse, and sank back into the dark as Erik crossed the bridge, the Troll Beneath and the Truth Beyond.

Courage comes in many shapes, while wisdom walks quietly beside it. Strength lies not just in swords or size but in sharpness of thought and calm in the face of fear.

    • Yep. No point in giving away money to an Argentine administration that won’t reciprocate – quid pro quo.

  12. Yes, it is important to learn about things and I have some more questions concerning the Charlie Kirk drama. Now, we have Tyler Roberson, the doorman, and his 3006 bolt action Mauser rifle, we have a brown shirt man with a Palm Pistol, we have the number 33 shown in many places and this would look more like a well run mind control operation and the people who set it up were very stupid in putting the agenda in place. Now, what would be the purpose of doing this???? Comment from Richard Day. Now, there is an answer to this question and who would like to address it on this website.

  13. No takers on the Charlie Kirk drama as this would normally look like the crime of the century. The crime scene was torn down like it had been set up like a stage for a show. This event is not going away as many websites are looking for the truth. Comment from Richard Day. The problem is no one wants to admit that they are sitting on the horse backwards and looking at themselves.

  14. And ya know what Nick? Why does Trump supporter Milei? Because he too is a conservative, sick of the way his Country was going and moved it into the right direction. Just as our President realized we the majority were, and are sick of the way this country is going. We’re you happier before Trump was in office? Were you this upset when Biden was sending billions upon billions to Ukraine? Where’s our payback on that money? The Billions left in Afghanistan? I’d like a true response, not a sarcastic one.

  15. The ART OF THE DEAL now has become the ART OF THE STEAL and the future will expose the truth. Comment from Richard Day. No takers on the Charlie Kirk drama????

    • Is this yet another bridge with the Troll beneath and the Truth beyond?

      Riddle me this, Mr. Day.

If “The ART OF THE DEAL now has become the ART OF THE STEAL and the future will expose the truth”… how do you know ‘now’ what the proposed Argentina loan holds in store for us? Don’t you have to take a few more footsteps in order to see what you leave behind?

Publicly available terms of the swap emphasize repayment through the standard mechanism—Argentina returning U.S. dollars in exchange for pesos over time—without subordination clauses favoring the U.S. over the IMF. The deal is backed by IMF-allocated Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) held in the ESF, but this serves as collateral for the U.S., not a structural preference in Argentina’s repayment schedule. In fact, as of today (October 26, 2025), with Argentina’s midterm elections already underway, the full $40 billion package (including $20 billion in private financing) remains in flux.

Perhaps it is wise to let the deal develop before criticizing or supporting it.

    • Pardon the inter-(corr)-uption – the word of the times is “crypt-oh!” The tool for the reset and wealth transfer. In regards to “sorry, Charlie,” it was a manuver to distract from Mr. Epstien and Gizzy – all psyops; past, present, and future, are intentional – all to usher in the NWO. Latin America has to fall in line or else – note the manuvering and alliances being forged and those breaking down. The geo-political mine/mind fields playing out like the most evil game of Risk ever played. Take note of who controls who and where – then look to who is manuvering to overthrow who, what, where, and how. Treacherous dealer – the good Book spells it out as it is a historical record of the same blood lines doing the same things over and over again.

  16. Thank you Mr. Eshelman for the education about the I. M. F. and the SPECIAL DRAWNG RIGHTS. Now, who controls the COLLATERAL. Now lets get back to the Charlie Kirk Drama. This website is becoming an echo chamber. Comments from Richard Day. This how you take over countries with debt structures.

  17. Now that we want to wander thru the dark forest, will Jared Kushner number 666 real estate agent be planning the rebuilding of the GAZA STRIP. Inquiring minds would like too know. Comments from Richard Day.

  18. Lets wander thru the dark forest again and ask if their were more people involved in the shooting of the three persons from Palestine in Burlington Vermont and what is the time for the trial of the shooter???? Inquiring minds would like to know.
