Attorney General T.J. Donovan is leading a nationwide investigation along with seven attorneys general into Meta Platforms, Inc., formerly known as Facebook, for providing and promoting its social media platform, Instagram, to children and young adults despite knowing that such use is associated with physical and mental health harms.
The bipartisan coalition of attorneys general from across the country is examining whether the company violated state consumer protection laws and put the public at risk.
“Parents and caregivers have long been concerned with the negative impact of social media on children,” said Attorney General Donovan. “Recent revelations have confirmed those concerns, and it’s time to act. That’s why Vermont is co-leading this bipartisan investigation.”
The investigation targets, among other things, the techniques utilized by Meta to increase the frequency and duration of engagement by young users and the resulting harms caused by such extended engagement. Today’s announcement follows recent reports revealing that Meta’s own internal research shows that using Instagram is associated with increased risk of physical and mental health harms on young people, including depression, eating disorders and even suicide.
In May, Attorney General Donovan co-led a bipartisan coalition of 44 attorneys general in urging Facebook to abandon its plans to launch a version of Instagram for children under the age of 13.
Attorney General Donovan is joined in leading this investigation, involving a broad group of states across the country, by a bipartisan coalition of attorneys general from California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, and Tennessee.

Why is he silent on our Constitutional Freedom violated by Covid Shot Mandates? Why is he silent on Vermont Citizen job loss due to Covid Shot Mandates? Why is he silent on the Invasion of our Country/State through open borders ? Why is he silent on the drugs pouring into our Country/State and human trafficking? Why is he silent on Election Fraud as Vermont uses Dominion Tabulators?
Why is he silent as Vermont Legislators violate our Constitution supporting 16 year old voting and non-citizen voting?
Donovan doesn’t serve the People of Vermont or our Constitution! He serves himself and the political elitist agenda! VOTE HIM OUT!

Admittedly, social media in general is a pimple on the ass of society, but the only reason TJ is going after them at this time is that he has to elevate his level of posturing and virtue signaling to set himself up for the Senate election. He has the dreaded XY chromosome and fair complexion which will be a serious impediment as he competes against Molly, Becca, Kesha and Krowinski for the coveted Leahy seat.
Where was TJ on the perils of commercialized Cannabis that also adversely affect our youth?
Yes ……. and he IS NOT for protecting the lives of the innocent and vulnerable unborn children in Vermont. He is FOR ADDING ABORTION TO OUR VERMONT CONSTITUTION.
bj donavan is a just another wishy-washy politician. Case in point. I observed him at a football game. He was the only one wearing his virtue signaling mask of over 90 people there and then he had it on and off most of the time. The very next week I observed him once again and he had no mask!! This guy is not what Vermont needs in a prosecutor or any place in state government. He is just another mouthpiece of the progressive dem party.
Credit where it’s due; at least he’s not actively doing something wrong for a change.
