Stolen 2024 Ford Expedition crashed in Malletts Bay

The Vermont State Police said over the weekend their investigators still do not known the identities of the two men who died in a stolen car following a police pursuit Friday in Colchester.
Three other men were injured in the single-car crash along Malletts Bay’s Lakeshore Drive.
Police say the crash occurred at about 7:35 p.m. in the vicinity 1172 East Lakeshore Dr. while the vehicle was being pursued by members of the Colchester Police Department. Two occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead on scene, and three other occupants were detained by police and subsequently transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Per policy, the Colchester Police Department requested that the Vermont State Police respond and assume the lead role in investigating this incident.
The preliminary investigation, including information provided at the scene by Colchester Police Chief Pete Hull and Burlington Police Chief Jon Murad, has determined the following: The incident began in Burlington when five men were involved in the theft of a 2024 Ford Expedition; at least one of the men brandished a firearm during the incident. Members of the Burlington Police Department attempted to locate the vehicle and subsequently initiated a pursuit. The Expedition fled into Colchester along the Beltline, where it nearly struck a marked Colchester police cruiser. Burlington police discontinued their pursuit when the vehicle entered Colchester. Colchester police officers then began to pursue the vehicle from West Lakeshore Drive onto East Lakeshore Drive, at which point the Expedition overturned.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Identification of the deceased individuals is pending further investigation and autopsies at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington, which also will determine the cause and manner of their deaths. The Chittenden County State’s Attorney’s Office has been notified of the crash.
Following their policies, both the Burlington and Colchester police departments will conduct internal reviews of the vehicle pursuit. In addition, Burlington police is conducting a criminal investigation of the reported assault and vehicle theft.
East Lakeshore Drive remains closed as of 12:30 a.m. Colchester Rescue, St. Michael’s College Rescue, and the Burlington and Colchester fire departments assisted at the scene. The Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team also responded.
State police investigators ask that anyone with information that could assist in this investigation call VSP’s Williston Barracks at 802-878-7111. Anonymous tips may be submitted online at https://vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit.

Has anyone notice a changed trend in Vermont?
In Chittenden County?
In Burlington?????
Why suddenly after 200 years of relative tranquility do we have rampant big city crimes, without having a big city?
Why is our countryside littered like bad yard sale of broken families, drug dealings, drug criminal activity, death and hopelessness?
Just curious, everybody knows who’s dealing the drugs, where the drugs are coming from in every town and city across the state.
Why haven’t the leaders in Montpelier noticed?
Why don’t you see any reporting of this VT Digger?
Why don’t you see any reporting of this in 7 Days?
Why is our speech censored on so many sites across our state?
Could it be adopting big city policies leads to big city problems regardless of city size? How long are we going to go down this road before we recognize, maybe we’re on the wrong road?
Please go back to your regularly scheduled program, “Orange man Bad”, Earth is going to collapse in 4 years. (It’s going to happen this time!)
It is so sad that this beautiful state has been taken over by progressive communist illiterates with an absence of education in history. We need strong Trump republican leadership NOW or the real VT will cease to exist. We need to stop allowing college students to vote where their parents do not live.
Sadly VT cities have become one of “those” places. We can expect that MSM and others will continue to bury what is happening right under their noses.
Well, there’s two that won’t be repeat offenders
What do you think the chance are that they are/were FIRST-time offenders? Or even second or third?
I’m thinking… very, very small.
Maybe the three survivors will make the decision to turn, maybe not. The two killed we know won’t be part of the so called justice system which is currently more akin to sport fishing, ie; catch and release.
Love a happy ending in the afternoon.
You can’t fix stupid, well two got fixed……………………………………….lock the rest up !!!
Airbags, seat belts, safety glass, speed limits, whatever… the automobile will continue to be a force in imposing natural selection and Darwinian evolution on the human race.
At least two get to skip right past the whole ‘justice involved’ part!
The fact that they are yet to be identified, leads me to believe that they are/were 20somethings from down/out state with no IDs…cause IDs are, you know, voter suppression. OR, the powers are just holding back as long as they can before they reveal what we all already suspect/know them to be.
