Gail Parent, 60, and Victor Parent, 94 of Northfield died May 25 of injuries sustained in a two-car crash on I-89 in Sharon.

The collision involved a 2003 Audi driven by Parent, and a 2015 Toyota Highlander driven by Nicholas Tarr, 37, of South Royalton.

The crash occurred after 3 pm May 25 on Interstate 89 in the area of mile marker 15/8 northbound. A southbound vehicle was traveling southbound on I89 when it crossed the grassy median and struck a vehicle head on that was traveling north in the northbound lane. It is unclear at this time if Parent or Tarr was the operator of the car that crossed the median.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were totaled. Tarr was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with serious injuries. Gail Parent sustained critical injuries and was transported by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Victor Parent was pronounced dead on scene.
