  1. The performances they display has unlimited potential. Clipping and snipping the “best of” and creating a montage of the finest moments. This RealityTV will contain drama, comedy, provocative subjects, psychological questions, etc. Creators, start your editing software!

  2. Thanks for doing this. Everything is hidden in plain sight on the legislative web site if you know where to look, and more people should take advantage of the access to the bills, and committee hearings by youtube, but of course its frequently like watching or listening to paint dry.

I’ve been following an issue close to me through the last session and into this one, and learned a few things. The last few minutes of a hearing can sometimes very interesting, usually an informal discussion as the hearing is winding down after the witnesses (and usually the press) have left the room. Thats when you can to hear the individual legislators opinions, and can be useful to target lobbying.

If you can’t watch the committee livestream real time (like most people) they are archived on youtube, but they are not easy to find as there is no standard file name convention, it seems each committee assistant does it slightly differently, all the time. A google search of the committee name and ‘Vermont’ is a good starting point, the rest is tough to explain, you have to try it.

Also, and this is relevant to your ‘Coming soon – This Week In Committee: Agendas for every committee for the upcoming week.’ The agenda’s are dynamic documents, they typically start popping up Friday afternoons for the following week, but are subject to constant change, sometimes hourly throughout the week with subjects changing, added, dropped, times changing, and witnesses added or dropped. I’d suggest if anyone has a committee agenda item they are interested in, you really need to check the agenda frequently, I check at least daily, there is a ‘last updated’ date and time on it, but you have to figure out what the the changes actually are by yourself.

  3. Great idea. These legislators have long needed people looking in on what they are doing. Sometimes navigational help to find helpful links are warranted. You’ll soon find your livingroom reporters.

  4. Thanks. Vermont Digger used to publish a guide like this, but they don’t seem to care much these days about doing actual Digging. Glad you’re here to pick up the pieces!
