Teacher shot in back by pellet gun

A high school teacher was shot in the back with a pellet gun today, Tuesday January 10, Barre police say.

At about 2:45 PM as school was being dismissed, officers with the Barre City Police Department responded to Spaulding High School for a report of a teacher allegedly shot in the back with a pellet gun, causing superficial injury, Police Chief Braedon Vail said.

Two students were identified as having brought airsoft pellet guns to school, one of which was reported to have been involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing and charges will be forthcoming.
