Strong: Faith not Fear

by Rep. Vicki Strong

As the new year of 2022 is upon us, I am committed to living in faith, and not fear, as we work together to make all of our lives better as Vermonters. With so much confusion, pressures, and stress bearing down upon us over the last year, it helps to step back, breathe, reclaim our humanity, and enjoy the daily blessings of life.

Rep. Vicki Strong

I will strive to be strong in 2022 to live in faith- faith in a good God and faith that truth and love will prevail in our lives. Together let’s refuse to give in to discouragement and fear, and press on with hope. In order to do that we have to pushback against the continual pressures to feel fear, discouragement, darkness, lack of hope, and doubt.

Turn off the news on TV, read uplifting literature and Scripture. Pray. Communicate often with good friends and family. Take care of ourselves with healthy habits. Nap. Smile. Laugh. See the beauty in nature. Stand up for our beliefs and be strong!

That is my desire in 2022, and as I serve my constituents in the legislature in this coming year, I am committed to living in faith and not fear. Let’s press on in hope together!

The author is a Republican member of the Vermont House of Representatives from Albany.

  1. My hope for the new year: may the truth come to light and the tyrants be held accountable. Happy New Year everyone!

  2. “Turn off the news on TV” is such good advice, Vicki. I note a strong connection between the optimism my friends express and whether they watch/listen to the nightly drivel. I dumped my television decades ago.

  3. Excellent message and right on point. God (not media, medicine or “science”) is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble. Thank you for your service. I wish I could vote for you.

  4. Bliadhna Mhath Ùr (Happy New Year) from an old Scottish Vermonter! Thank you for your clear and concise words of optimism, they are very refreshing. We have a son serving in the USMC and therefore especially appreciate you and your love for liberty. Beannachd leibh!

    • For auld lang syne, my dear, For auld lang syne. We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet, For auld lang syne. And surely ye’ll be your pint stowp! And surely I’ll be mine! And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet, For auld lang syne. Chorus. We twa hae run about the braes, And pou’d the gowans fine; But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit, Sin’ auld lang syne.

      • Och, and now you’ve brought a tear to my eye, good Mr. Page. For what it’s worth, you’ve been a voice of reason amidst the din, and I respect you.
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere, and gie’s a hand o’ thine. And we’ll tak’ a right gude-willie waught, for auld syne. -Beannachdan na Raithe…

  5. Vicki. Please run for Senate or Governor. Vermont needs so many more people like you!

I’ve learned that one of our Chittenden county local senators is married to the head of the UVM medical (who makes more than 1 Million a year) who is heavily pushing the jab in local newspapers. (Brumsted). There is so much corruption in Chittenden county!

    God Bless!
