ICE agents nab 133 illegal migrants – including 3 convicted killers – during NY mass deportation raid | 4 April 2025 | More than 100 illegal migrants were nabbed as part of a five-day mass deportation operation in New York state, the feds said Friday. Of the 133 people busted by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, 20 had criminal charges or convictions on their records, including three convicted killers, the agency said in a statement. Nine of those swept up in the raids, which took place March 24-28, and been previously deported before getting back into the US, ICE said. The group of murderers snatched by ICE included a 49-year-old from Trinidad and Tobago, a 32-year-old from El Salvador and a 70-year-old from the Dominican Republic.
Judge holds ICE agent in contempt after he detained suspect during a trial | 3 April 2025 | A judge in Boston is holding a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in contempt after he detained a suspect while the man was on trial. ICE agent Brian Sullivan detained Wilson Martell-Lebron last week as he was leaving court. But a Boston Municipal Court judge issued a ruling Monday against Sullivan, arguing that he had deprived Martell-Lebron of his rights to due process and a fair trial by taking him into custody. Judge Mark Summerville dismissed the charge against Martell-Lebron of making false statements on his driver’s license application — namely that he wasn’t Martell-Lebron. After that, Summerville filed the contempt charge against Sullivan, which could lead Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden review the case to determine if any charges should be filed.

Can’t wait to go quit my white-collar job and work making socks at the factory, said no one ever. I figured that there would be crickets in this comment section. Someone here please tell me how tariffs are going to “fix” our economy.

If you notice, the periods are spaced out, probably because anyone who lived through a tariff would tell you it was a bad idea.
Second of all, Vermont currently has a 2.8% unemployment rate so who is working in these factories that are coming back? Why would someone leave their job to go work in a factory that we outsourced to the developing world. Even with a 35% tariff, China can make cheap products cheaper than the US.

Trump already said that he wasn’t negotiating the tariffs. So if he is, and they are going to go away, what exactly is the incentive for businesses to move back to the United States. You can’t play both sides of the fence with someone’s business, Laurie. That’s why the stock market crashed.

We were forced toupee for the housing and the food and the education and the medical for illegal immigrants that we’re pouring across our border like day belonged here…

We are a tourism state and do they realize that cars from other states don’t go through the garbage we go through just to keep a car on the road however they pour through here with no inspections loud exhaust and we are happy to have them here… This is so contradictory.

Richard, I agree with you on the patience needed for Trump’s out of the box tariff/tax cut plan to work. It makes sense to me, in contrast with the current ‘plan’ to borrow and print ourselves into bankruptcy and military/Economic also-ran status because we’re too terrified about the stock market and the next election. Or too blinded by hatred or political striving.
The plan might not work. Or it might work but be interrupted by a contrary Congress. But for now Donald J. Trump is sitting in the big chair of the U.S.S. (of State Free) Enterprise, he’s got a fleet behind him, and woe betide the Klingons who get in his way.
The level of misunderstanding and inability to grasp reality is stunning and shows living in a bubble and willfull ignorance is certainly bliss. It also shows the failure of an education system that doesn’t teach basic economics or how monetary systems are suppose to work. We live in a system of indebted servitude within the biggest ponzi scheme the Western world has ever witnessed.

Why all the screeching and bemoaning tarrifs? Mainly, no one knew the USA was being sold out under our noses for decades. I knew about the tarriff issues 30 years ago. Congress did nothing, nor did previous presidents. After 40 years of being ripped off, the populace’s delusion of prosperity holding vapor paper with fake digits printed on it comes as a shock. The result of being lied to with impunity for decades. Time to suck it up.
Trump is playing a serious dangerous game with a global cartel. I do hope his calculations and forecasts are correct. It will depend on the malevolence or benevolence whispered in his ears. End the Fed – absolutely. Yet, Congress is to woefully yoked to the fraud to see the forest through the trees. They don’t turn out to be multi-millionaires on a six digit salary by chance.
As I said before, best be prepared and brace for impact. It may be a brief downturn or a long, drawn out slog. We shall see who blinks and who falls upon their sword. Many should be falling on their knees and praying for mercy.
