Sen. Sanders: “Trump dislikes Muslims, except those who are billionaire autocrats”

President Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

By Paul Bean

Senator Bernie Sanders criticized President Donald Trump on Tuesday for hosting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House, accusing the president of selective favor or Muslims based on financial incentives.

“Trump dislikes Muslims, except those who are billionaire autocrats who can make his family even richer,” Sanders wrote in a post on X yesterday (11/19).

Sanders’ remarks were in relation to concerns about U.S.-Saudi relations, alleged human rights abuses, and Trump’s business ties to the Gulf kingdom.

Trump welcomed bin Salman on November 18, marking the crown prince’s first White House visit since the Khashoggi killing inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The welcome included a military flyover, a procession of horses, and a black-tie dinner,.

“Last night’s lavish White House dinner showed us the global oligarchy coming together in plain sight,” continued Sanders on his campaign X page. “By cozying up to MBS, Trump has signaled to the world that the United States is now on the side of authoritarianism, not democracy.”

Sanders also posted the following letter with tons of criticisms of President Trump’s relationship with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

“Trump brought American oligarchs—some of the wealthiest people in the world—together with his multibillionaire Saudi guests to schmooze and strike deals,” wrote Sanders criticizing a number of deals the Saudi Prince and President Trump had been working on, including a plan by Elon Musk, who spent $290 million to help elect Trump,  and was able to secure a Saudi-backed data center that will run on microchips built by Nvidia.

Sanders also mentioned Lockheed Martin CEO Jim Taiclet, and Trump’s announcement of F-35 sales to Saudi Arabia worth billions of dollars.

“Today, a handful of multibillionaires—including MBS, Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, and others at that dinner—are gaining more and more wealth and power. While they struggle to put food on the table and pay for housing and health care, through their enormous wealth and campaign contributions, these oligarchs are undermining democracy in the United States and around the world.”

Sanders alleged that President Trump was favorable to the Saudis because his family is currently working out business deals with them.

“You will not be surprised to learn that as Trump provides favorable treatment to the Saudis, his family is pursuing lucrative real estate deals in Saudi Arabia. A Saudi-owned professional golf league [worth tens of millions]. And Saudi Arabia has $2 billion in investments in Trump properties, son-in-law Jared Kushner’s firm, and recently backed a $55 billion takeover of Electronic Arts with his involvement.”

In the Oval Office, Trump described bin Salman as a “fantastic” and “brilliant” leader, and a “very good friend.”

The two leaders made several deals marking an end in poor relations under the Biden administration. This included a U.S.-Saudi Strategic Defense Agreement that designates Saudi Arabia as a major non-NATO ally, giving access to U.S. military hardware and securing Saudi funds to offset American defense costs in the region.

“Today, President Donald J. Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia finalized a series of landmark agreements that deepen the U.S.-Saudi strategic partnership, expand opportunities for high-paying American jobs, strengthen critical supply chains, and reinforce regional stability,” says the White House website. “…All while putting American workers, industry, and security first.”

The White House website also lists some key investments and partnerships with Saudi Arabia who raised its U.S. investment commitment to nearly $1 trillion (up from $600 billion in May).

Some key deals made:

  • Signed Joint Declaration completing negotiations on a multi-billion-dollar U.S.-Saudi Civil Nuclear Energy Cooperation Agreement with strong nonproliferation standards; U.S. confirmed as Saudi Arabia’s partner of choice.
  • Signed Critical Minerals Framework to diversify and secure supply chains.
  • Signed landmark AI Memorandum of Understanding giving Saudi Arabia access to leading U.S. AI systems while protecting American technology.
  • Signed historic U.S.-Saudi Strategic Defense Agreement (SDA) strengthening the 80+ year defense partnership and regional deterrence.
  • Approved major defense sales, including future F-35 deliveries and nearly 300 American-made tanks, supporting U.S. jobs and the defense industrial base.
  • Secured new Saudi burden-sharing funds to offset U.S. costs and easier market access for American defense firms.

“These are the forces now shaping American foreign policy and the world economy,” Sanders wrote in conclusion. “Not human rights, not democratic values, not the security of the American people, but the personal financial interests of Trump and his fellow oligarchs. All over the world, including the United States, working people are standing up and fighting back. They are saying NO to oligarchy. They are saying NO to authoritarianism. And they are saying NO to continued attacks on the working class….”

  1. Once Bernie leaves the government he can work as a painter since he is an expert at painting with a broad brush.

  2. Nice job, Bernie! You do well in using the broad stroke as Sebastianiam stated. I COULD say that you dislike people of your own faith considering the verbal assault you have lead against Israel. Just proves I’m smarter than you.

  3. Perhaps Bernie misinterprets the strategy? In words of wisdom from the Godfather movies: “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer”. However, it is admirable to see Bernie, the self-hating Jew actually show some suspicion of moslems instead of kissing up to them.

  4. As many times Bernie has slipped and fallen in the dog waste on the lawn, he does sometimes get it right. Left eye black eye Bernie needs to talk about all the pedophiles that were present at that meeting.

  5. I wonder which house oligarch Bernie will sleep in tonight. The control this NON-VERMONTER has to RUIN Vermont and strip it of its legacy is nauseating. Oh, for the day he steps down – that will be a HAPPY DAY!

  6. Bernie is a very successful carpetbagger con artist who has been instrumental in lowering the prestige of Vermont, along with the rest of the democrats and rinos since the 70’s.

  7. Typical Orwellian “newspeak” from Bernie. Communists always change the language to obfuscate what they are saying. Bernie used to dislike millionaires until he became one. Then he disliked the billionaires, but they donate a lot of money to him so now it’s on to disliking oligarchs and who the hell knows what he’s even talking about.

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: if we have been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back”. Carl Sagan

These are the voters of Bernie. They have been bamboozled so long the bamboozle has captured them and they are too stoopid to acknowledge they have been bamboozled. They have given a charlatan power.

  8. Trump also hates oligarchs, especially those that own three houses and claim to represent all Vermonters.

  9. Trump likes Muslims except those who murder thousands of innocent Americans using airplanes as weaponry, those who abuse, assault and dehumanize women in the name of religion or mutilate little girl’s genitals, and those who work to insidiously & intentionally undermine American’s culture, and our Constitutional rights including those of freedom of religion and speech.

The USA has a culture as do African countries as Australia does, etc. Preserve it, respect it, and if you are accepted here – assimilate into it.

    • You are not only literally describing the Saudi royal family, but the man sitting with the President ordered the murder of a journalist who was a US resident and he seems to be quite fine with it. Do you seriously believe that Wahhabi Muslims and the Saudi Royal Family believe in Western rights such as freedom of religion and speech when women are literally invisible in their society?

    • Bill Clinton ordered the killing of over 65 men, women and children in Waco, Texas. Hillary was responsible for the debacle in Benghazi, and in Libya. Obama killed innocent people with his drone strikes and Biden was responsible for 13 soldiers in Afghanistan. The end.

  10. Three buildings in New York City blew up and fell into their own foot print caused by two airplanes. Any questions???????????

    • Or from which one of his three residences? Maybe his flight attendant will let him know that he’s lost touch with the “working class “

    • Remember, Bernie addressed his situation with 3 houses, “I Deserve 3 houses, I am a US Senator”

  11. Keep in mind that Salman is NOT a devout religious Muslim, but rather a secular Muslim. Meaning that he embraces all of the religious restrictive mores, but strives (even lusts) after all the trappings of privileged, powerful, gainful life.

  12. Senator Sanders, as a long serving member in Congress and the Senate, he knows, beyond any shadow of doubt, how the sausage is made within the confines of DC. He knows how and who gets their wheels greased, who doesn’t and why. Many, many years of listening him to hash and rehash the same talking points. No different than Leahy – once an insider, all is good and prosperous for their protected class.

Since 1991, from George Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr., Obama, Trump and Biden, Bernie has seen it all and saw even more when he ran for President. So, at this stage, as the USA is in irreversible decline, after so many years of war, conflicts, social engineering, recession to recession, why oh why, should we believe what any long standing DC seat occupier has to say? A long time emerged in the swamp does not make one effective or believable – the proof is in the results we are all dealing with now. Being long winded on rhetoric and far short on positive results for the common good is not a track record to applaud or validate. No matter which side of the aisle firmly planted on or the fence ridden for votes or gloats.

    • Bernie has probably been spouting ad nauseum the same tired, fantasy land Marxist cliches since he was a child. He’s like an old tape recorder stuck on re-play. He has done little if anything to help his constituents. This while continually enriching himself and his family. He is full of flop as a constipated cow. Yet he has legions of brain dead acolytes and followers who hang on his every pronouncement. Said acolytes and followers are the voters to which Churchill was referring to when he commented “The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter”.

  13. It is no secret to anyone in this thread of comments that Bernie Sanders has never passed a bill written on his own. I don’t know of anything that Bernie has accomplished that has had a positive effect for the citizens of VT. Bernie is and will always be a fraud. Like DJT or hate him, he is capable of negotiating with countries and people that may or not be our friends simply to improve the lives of the citizens of America. Bernie and those like him do not have the skill sets or intelligence to be able to benefit from those that are not necessarily friendly to the U.S. Early on in my working career, a successful elderly man told me to “never get mad at your money”. I believe DJT was given the same advice. Those that criticize simply do not have the vision or desire to improve life for the citizens of this country.

    • He sounds jealous if you ask me. He wants to be in charge, but he sold out to the uniparty and now has regrets about not being in the spot light, thank you Lord Jesus for that one. Now he has to settle for helping destroy New York City, by helping elect a communist mayor, just like what happened in Burlington. Subversion is a long term plan, carried out over decades, by Bernie and by Theocratic Muslims, both of which want to rule over our republic.

  14. Sanders does love candidates who want to subvert our Republic with a theocracy and communism………do you feel the Bern?

He campaigns with them and actively supports their election, so there’s that.

  15. Some of the comments on this website still remind me of that woodpecker still pecking on that empty steel drum. But some still believe the 911 story.
