Burlington City Council President Ben Traverse stated today he will make a campaign announcement Friday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Battery Park pavilion in Burlington.

Traverse said recently he is considering a run for mayor at next March’s City Meeting. Incumbent Emma Mulvaney-Stanak is up for re-election.

The choice of the Battery Park Pavilion may be significant. As the former site of a housing encampment, its future use will be affected by the outcome of Traverse’s Burlington Forward plan, giving city workers more guidelines for managing of the growing vagrant population.

Traverse will be joined by South District City Councilor Buddy Singh and Kerin Durfee, according to a media advisory announcing the event.
