Page: State House leaders, don’t ever talk to me about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion again

Dear Vermont State House leaders:

By now you all know that yesterday, Transtifa stormed a scheduled meeting in a reserved Room 11 and prevented volunteer Vermonters from telling their story about detransitioning. There, in the People’s House, only some of the People were permitted to be heard, and the Sergeant At Arms you elected for “maintaining order and decorum in the building” did nothing to stop their raucous shouting and singing.

People who worked hard for weeks to stage the event were unable to be heard.

People who traveled from as far as Bennington to learn, were unable to even hear.

To the dismay of many present, myself included, your State House Powers that Be enabled this depriving of freedom of speech. And hours later, the majority leaders of House and Senate explicitly defended it.

Free speech deniers, we’ve got your back!

Sure, it’s your job to run the State House as you think best. But let me say two things.

First, if this is your idea of leadership, running the State House may not be your job much longer. November 2026 is 20 months away. Voting Vermonters now know that if you allow the shouters and screamers to drown out someone else today, you will stand by, holding the cloaks of those who do it to them tomorrow.

Second, don’t ever preach to me about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion again.

When one point of view is shouted down in the People’s House because the ruling majority is too likeminded or merely fearful to object, there is no Diversity. Just a mob with a megaphone.

When any group is singled out for silencing and public shaming, there is no ‘equity,’ according to the dictionary definition as  ‘the state or quality of being just and fair.’

Inclusion? Yesterday’s travesty “included” the Vermont Family Alliance in a public word stoning promoted, aided, abetted, and subsequently endorsed by members of the legislative majority.

And yes, shame on any minority members of House and Senate and the State House media who so inexplicably fear the wrath of this intolerant  ‘community’ that they lower their eyes and say nothing.

Yesterday, you State House bosses shouted to the sculpted ceilings of their respective chambers for all to hear: Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity are only for some. For the out-of-favor, you preach UEU: Uniformity, Exclusion, and Unfairness.

Long may Vermonters remember.

And may YOU remember: when our First Amendment rights are threatened, we can shout, too.

  1. Thank you, Guy. I suggest reposting periodically, maybe with updates, as a reminder. I will not forget.

  2. The same happened a couple of summers ago when we went to the capital to support the police and honor the family of a former police officer. Anfreaka & BM came with their boombox, padded body armor, flags, and loudness and drown out the speaker…. making sure to rough up a couple of older citizens and a patriot flag holder for good measure.

    • If at all possible they want to provoke violence. I’ve been to the most well attended 2a defense at the state house the people were well spoken, massive in numbers and very respectful. Their arguments were sound.

      They were totally ignored.

Alinsky is the source of all these antics, they are following his rule book, power by any means necessary.

Tom Homan has the right attitude, calmly eat an apple.

They should just keep rescheduling. They could have waited them out. They could have thrown them out also.

Btw, what does the gov have to say? The VTGOP? Guess they are all ok with this huh?

  3. hear, hear. and, this is not the only position squelched in the People’s House.

  4. This the best thing I’ve read or heard in Vermont in living memory….and my memory is long. IS IT TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE IN OUR VT LEGISLATURE? Yes! -Dennis Morrisseau

  5. Amen to that, Guy! Believe me, there are many of us Vermonters that wholeheartedly agree with you. We’ve had enough and we want the return of courtesy, decency and common sense.

  6. Thank you Guy ! This abomination deserves to be in there face until they admit they were wrong !

  7. Our legislators (and Governor) should get an earful from us.. maybe some legislation should come from this and revamp the rules of conduct in our State House.. No excuse for complacency when ANY group disrupts a meeting like this. All these agitators accomplished was to make themselves look more foolish than they already look.. And That’s hard to do!

  8. Guy you make us proud! As someone who has spent some time in that building, that type of behavior should never be allowed. The Sargent At Arms based on my understanding is fairly new to this position, but she handled this very poorly. She should of had the Capitol Police who were standing by address the agitators and have them act appropriately or remove them.

  9. Thank you Guy and VDC – for everything.
Thank you for standing up for all voices. Free Speech Forever

  10. Well said. Thank you Guy Page, you have said what so many are thinking. I remember what such a debacle could never have happened in our beautiful State House.

My thought is that perhaps Ms Kessler was told to stand down by the Speaker of the House – the former VT Planned Parenthood executive, Jill Krowinski.

After all, her former employer is closely tied to radical transgender policies and is one of the largest dispensers of the hormones and drugs for those who are experiencing “gender dysphoria”…..

  11. From your mouth to God’s ears – Hallelujah! The way to combat evil is to stand in His light, His rightousness, girded up in His Word, and swinging the sword of Truth with the authority He grants to all who believe. The more people stand up and speak up for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness – the demons must flee – they can’t stand the Light, they can’t stand Good, or hearing the most powerful of all statements – Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior. By all means, don’t hesitate to rebuke them (meaning correction or face the consequences) or bind them up as directed. Being silent is what Lucifer prefers as he and his minions are the bullhorn. In turn, believers are commanded to sound the Trumpets of Truth – we are at the time of retribution and judgment – many can feel that down to their bones.

  12. Atta boy, Guy! Tell it like it happened. And keep that video of the dragsters insulting women by their supposedly “female” behavior. I’m sure it will be useful to publish again in other articles.

  13. Being one of those in the room I was shocked at the rude and inappropriate behavior of the antagonistic pro trans group. It was beyond belief that our state house the PEOPLES house was so disrespected and those managing the space were unable to do anything about it. We approached the police who repeatedly told us that it was public space in room 11 and everyone was allowed to be there. If that is the case then why would anyone ever schedule that room with the risk of being yelled down, insulted verbally and poorly treated. We need new rules for public use of that building. It was a sad day for the first amendment in our state capital no less.
I am with many… just sick of this fake DEI agenda.

    • I agree, however It’s no longer the people’s house. It has been taken over by the dem/prog invasion of Vermont. The State House belongs to the people but we must take it back. How much more insanity do we have to endure before we actually throw these people out of office and return the state to the people. Where is the governor, hiding behind a desk? Where is the republican party, on a sabbatical? No, they are hiding too, because they are worthless and a major disappointment to real Vermonters. This is going to end, it’s only a matter of time. The Dem/Prog party is imploding and they have exposed themselves. No it’s up to us to finish the job and TAKE BACK VERMONT!

  14. Well said, Guy. Thank you for speaking out against the arrogant lunacy of our radical “lawmakers,” an oxymoronic designation for these lawless thugs. How could they possibly think their actions benefit anyone other than a small group of misfits? Like Jacobins in the French Revolution, radical Democrats in the statehouse wield absolute power and inflict nothing but misery and hardship on the good people of our state.

  15. What immediately came to my mind was….what would Francis Brooks have done??
