A New Jersey man has been arrested for an October shooting and kidnapping, state police say.

On October 23, 2023 at about 11 pm, Vermont State Police received a 911 that someone had been shot at a home on Twitchell Hill Road in Shaftsbury. Investigation revealed that Mohamed Hamdi, 32, of Union, NJ, and another male, entered the residence and forced the occupants into the basement.

While in the basement, Nicholas Baker and Joseph Maccioli were assaulted and Joseph was shot while attempting to flee.

Mohamed was apprehended on January 4, 2024, in Union, NJ, by the US Marshals Service and the New Jersey State Police.  Mohamed is awaiting extradition to Vermont. The incident is still under investigation.

  1. Just more trash up from the cities, when will Vermont learn, probably never as we have a state house full of them, that slithered into our state !!

    • Union NJ used to be a quaint working class neighborhood when it was just a bunch of Polish and Portuguese immigrants- hardly a city. Of course it is trashed now. What changed…. ? Hmm I wonder. Hey Burlington, pay attention…..
