Police have yet to solve the case of stolen movie props from the Beetlejuice 2 set in East Corinth.
Police say there has been yet another theft of Beetlejuice 2 movie props. This time, the thieves struck Northeast Slopes, a skiing non-profit, just up the road from East Corinth. Several windows from the Maitland home that is now being torn down were donated to the nonprofit ski hill. The theft, Vermont State Police report, happened sometime from July 24-27. Thefts of a stone statue and a jack-o-lantern lamppost remain unsolved. There are now a total of three known thefts of props from the film set of director Tim Burton’s sequel to the popular 1980’s film. Burton and his crew shot footage in East Corinth for several days earlier this month. |
Safety issues raised at Bradford meeting |
For the second time this month, community members asked the Bradford Selectboard for help in addressing escalating homelessness in town. At least some of the unsheltered may have contributed to unsafe and hazardous conditions at the Bradford Public Library and elsewhere. “I don’t think we can ignore it anymore,” said resident Larry Coffin at yesterday’s meeting. Bradford Selectboard Chair Meroa Benjamin said the board will put the issue on its agenda for the next meeting in August. In an unrelated move, the board accepted the resignation of the town’s health officer last night. |

A page on the town website states: “we hope you find our friendly vibrant town a place where you would consider putting roots down”. The library’s website proclaims: “BPL has formed multiple community partnerships offering something for everyone at the library this summer!”. Neither specifies that you be a decent, law-abiding, contributing member of society, so…come one, come all!
Is Bradford the home town and/or in the district that Copeland-Hanzas represented before she became secretary of state? Oh, she’s only worried about climate change.
