VT Grassroots will present an “Empowering Parents by Exposing Marxism” symposium May 13-14 featuring Dr. James Lindsay and Prof. Mick Meriweather and a panel of Vermonters. 

The event starts with a Friday May 13, 6 pm dinner with guest speaker Lindsay at Capitol Plaza at 100 State Street in Montpelier. Cost: $55. 

Saturday, May 14, Empowering Parents Symposium will feature Lindsay, Meriwether, and a panel discussion with Vermont Republican candidates at 1037 South Brownell Road in Williston. Cost: $20.

James Lindsay is an American-born author, mathematician, and political commentator. He has written six books spanning a range of subjects including religion, the philosophy of science and postmodern theory. He is the founder of New Discourses, an organization dedicated to shining the light of objective truth in subjective darkness. A featured guest on Fox News, Glenn Beck, Joe Rogan, and NPR, he has co-authored “Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity―and Why This Harms Everybody” and is the author of his new book, “Race Marxism.” 

Prof. Meriwether recently won a First Amendment case before a Federal Appeals Court. On Friday, March 26, the court ruled in favor of the “devout Christian” and said that Shawnee State University officials and a lower Federal District Court failed to recognize the professor’s First Amendment rights to free speech and to the free exercise of his religion.
