On the morning of Friday’s planned anti-ICE ‘funeral procession’ in Williston, Homeland Security stated that nationwide, Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees from January – October of this year are ‘associated’ with 52,000 crimes in the neighboring state of New York – including 131 homicides.

Funeral procession organizers claim that 102 people have died in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody or as a result of ICE actions nationwide since January, 2025.

ICE Out Vermont Alliance, a statewide coalition of community, faith-based, and activist organizations, will hold a funeral procession and nonviolent sit-in in Williston on Friday, November 6, in remembrance of what it claims are more than 100 people who have died at the hands of ICE since January 2025.“Since January 2025, 102 people that we’ve been able to identify have died directly as a result of ICE enforcement actions or while in ICE custody. These victims include children as young as 3 years old and adults as old as 85 years,” said ICE Out VT organizer Drew Hudson.

The ICE Out website states that ‘”upon arrival at Harvest Lane, there will be a  brief funeral service for those who have been killed or died while in detention, a press conference, and a participatory mock trial focused on the atrocities committed by ICE. At the conclusion of these events individuals willing to risk arrest, who are trained in non-violent direct action and a member of an affinity group, will participate in a sit-in at 188 Harvest Lane. This action will strictly adhere to nonviolent principles. Other participants are invited to express their support, legally, at a designated area adjacent to the sit-in.”

Homeland Security, for its part, says its work has taken killers off the streets – and would remove more violent criminals from American society if ‘sanctuary states’ like New York would hand over violent criminals with ICE detainers.

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) this morning released the following statement after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer asking authorities in New York City not to release an illegal alien accused of raping a 28-year-old woman.

On November 3, 2026, ICE lodged a detainer for Reynaldo Hoel Mayna, a criminal illegal alien from Peru, following his arrest by the New York City Police Department. His criminal history includes anal rape – strongarm, assault with a deadly weapon, forcible touching: touching sexual/intimate parts of another person, and sexual abuse – 3rd degree.

MAYNA

On August 18, 2023, the U.S. Border Patrol arrested Mayna after he illegally entered the country near San Diego. He was then RELEASED into the country by the Biden Administration.

“This illegal alien’s criminal history includes anal rape – strongarm, assault with a deadly weapon, forcible touching: touching sexual/intimate parts of another person, and third-degree sexual abuse, yet sanctuary politicians in New York invited this vile criminal into their community,” said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. “Sanctuary politicians have handcuffed their law enforcement and are allowing criminal activity to thrive, while the American people become less safe. Underneath President Trump, we are restoring law and order in our cities, in our towns, and in our states, despite what happens with career politicians that put criminals in front of law-abiding citizens.”

The latest ICE data reveals that from January 20, 2025, to October 8, 2026, 16,070 detainers were not honored by the state of New York. There are 52,503 total criminal charges and convictions associated with these detainers, including:

  • Homicides: 131
  • Kidnappings: 132
  • Sexual offenses: 1,017
  • DUIs: 1,561
  • Burglaries: 1,631
  • Robberies: 1,776
  • Weapons offenses: 2,198
  • Dangerous drugs: 4,324
  • Assaults: 9,502

New York City’s Mayor Zohran Mamdani signed an Executive Order turning New York City into a shield for violent criminal illegal aliens to reoffend and create more innocent victims.

In December 2025, then-Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons sent a letter to New York Attorney General Letitia James, along with the attorneys general of California and Illinois, putting her on notice for the state’s failure to honor ICE detainers. In response, New York Governor Kathy Hochul punished local law enforcement who did cooperate with ICE by proposing legislation that would bar local police departments from partnering and cooperating with ICE law enforcement, which she signed into law in May 2026. The law took effect on August 25, 2026.

Under Governor Hochul, New York has become a hotbed of illegal alien crime, Homeland Security said on Friday. Some of the recent illegal alien crimes in the sanctuary state include:

  • In October, ICE arrested Rudi and Mirabela Lacatusu, an illegal alien couple from Romania, after they were charged with grand larceny for carrying out more than a dozen jewelry thefts across four states. Nassau County Police turned them over to ICE custody.
  • In October, two illegal aliens from the Dominican Republic, Dangelo Rafael Jean Caraballo and Sneider Mejia Bautista, repeatedly stabbed an off-duty NYPD detective in an attempted robbery. Both suspects had previously been arrested in New York for crimes including reckless endangerment, reckless driving, possession of burglar’s tools, grand larceny, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, among other crimes, but both had been released before ICE could lodge detainers.
  • In June, ICE lodged a detainer for Aureliano Antonio Melendez Reyes, an illegal alien from El Salvador, after he was arrested for raping a 16-year-old girl in Huntington, New York.
  • In April, the New York City Department of Corrections refused to honor an ICE detainer for Roman Ceron Amatitla, an illegal alien from Mexico, who was charged with murder and arson in Queens County, New York.
  • In March, ICE arrested Bryan David Tasiguano Leon, an illegal alien from Ecuador and Latin Kings gang member, who had been released by New York sanctuary politicians despite being charged with assault.
  • In March, ICE lodged a detainer for Bairon Posada-Hernandez, a four-time deported illegal alien from Honduras, after he was arrested for shoving two bystanders, including an 83-year-old Air Force veteran, onto subway tracks in New York City. The Air Force veteran, Richard Williams, later died of his injuries.
  • In January, ICE arrested Rafael Andres Rubio Bohorquez, an illegal alien from Venezuela, who was working as a New York City Council employee despite having a criminal history that includes an arrest for assault.
  • In January, ICE arrested Gerardo Miguel-Mora, an illegal alien from Mexico, after he had been released by New York sanctuary politicians despite having a criminal history that includes arrests for strangulation, rape, sexual assault, burglary, grand larceny, and drug possession.
  • In April 2025, ICE lodged a detainer for Felix Jeronimo-Rojas, an illegal alien from Mexico, after he was arrested for raping and robbing a corpse on a New York City subway. Jeronimo-Rojas was sentenced in June 2026 to five years in prison.

In addition to the crimes committed by illegal aliens in New York, the state’s sanctuary policies have had disastrous consequences in other states as well. These include:

  • In September, ICE arrested Simranpal Singh, an illegal alien from India, in Pennsylvania who had been issued a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) by Hochul’s New York.
  • In March, ICE arrested Sukhdev Singh, an illegal alien from India, after he caused a crash while driving a semi-truck that left a U.S. citizen hospitalized in critical condition in Indianapolis, Indiana. Singh had been given a CDL by Hochul’s New York.
  • In October 2025, ICE arrested Anmol Anmol, an illegal alien from India, in Oklahoma. Hochul’s New York had given Anmol a CDL that listed him as “No Name Given Anmol.”
  • In August 2023, New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers arrested Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal alien from Venezuela and Tren de Aragua gang member, for recklessly driving a motorcycle with a 2-year-old child who was not wearing a helmet. He was released due to New York’s sanctuary policies, and six months later, Ibarra went on to murder nursing student Laken Riley in Georgia in February 2024.

  1. The numbers of funerals of victims in the US of illegal-alien violence pales in comparison to those “victimized” by ICE. With rare exceptions, every person killed by ICE actions engaged in threatening behavior that would justify lethal force by ANY sworn law enforcement personnel. True, there are some incompetent, inadequately-trained yahoos working for ICE, but that situation applies to every employer in the post-COVID world. The bottom line is that anytime you are instructed to behave in a certain manner by a sworn law enforcement officer, it is your legal obligation to comply, and if you have a problem with it, take it up later in court, not by furtive actions with an automobile or molotov cocktail. There is a valid reason to not have local jurisdictions release people with ICE detainers…if they are already in custody, they are clean of weapons. Once released, they can re-arm and re-associate with their fellow criminals, making the process of taking them back into custody very hazardous for law enforcement as well as for bystanders. For those who have a problem with enforcing our immigration laws, do you also have a problem with enforcing our DUI or domestic violence statutes? Should the law enforcement personnel who enforce those laws also be called nazis and fascists and be doxxed? Every crime committed by and every crime victim of an undocumented alien is one that would not have happened if our immigration laws were enforce to the letter. Enough with the silly, disingenuous theatrics by unemployed (and mostly unemployable) Soros rent-a-mobs.
