Bah humbug! Local community media banned church announcement:
In the spirit of Christmas My spouse and I posted the following letter on the Springfield Vermont Community FB page and after a few likes it was taken down because it broke the rules on religious content.
It saddens us that on a private not government community social media page an invitation to share in the true meaning of Christmas is prohibited. Here is the letter:
As the holiday season approaches, many of us are busy with shopping, decorations, and gatherings with family and friends. Amid the hustle and bustle, it’s easy to lose sight of the profound reason we celebrate Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior, who came into the world to bring hope, peace, and eternal life to all who believe.
This Christmas, I invite everyone in the Springfield area to join us at Precision Valley Baptist Church for our Sunday services, where we will reflect on the incredible gift of God’s Son and worship together in a warm, welcoming community. Under the faithful leadership of our pastor, Joseph Mauricio Martins, and his wife Ashley—both deeply committed to their strong Christian faith and dedicated to teaching the Word of God with passion and clarity—you’ll experience biblical preaching that points to Christ and encourages growth in maturity.
Our church is especially family-friendly, with engaging children’s ministry programs, including Sunday School, designed to help kids learn about Jesus in a fun and nurturing environment. Whether you’re a longtime believer, a family with young children, or simply curious about the Christmas story, you’ll find a place here where everyone is accepted and encouraged to encounter Christ in a meaningful way.
Our church is located at 67 Route 106 in North Springfield, VT. Services include Children’s Sunday School (September through May) and Worship Service at 10:00 a.m.—please visit our website at mypvbc.com for the latest schedule, events, and more information about our Christmas celebrations.
Please, Come celebrate the joy of Christmas with us and discover the life-giving message that changes everything.

2028 contenders:
The leading contenders are speculated to be Crockett, AOC and Newsome. The other wantabees of Booker, Beshaw or Moore just don’t have the charisma that a Crockett or AOC have. Newsome will be the establishment candidate. Shapiro is probably the smartest but I don’t thinK the Dems would nominate a Jew especially with the anti-semitism in their party.
On the Republican side there’s a lot of speculation that Don Jr. could emerge as the front runner. Horrors. Vance, DeSantis, Rubio and Cruz could also be under consideration. Unfortunately Vance tied to Trump is his liability. Rubio is the strongest of this group.
It’s fun speculating this far from the election. Lots can happen but the race will be between ideologies. Progressivism or MAGA light. Is the country ready for a Hawley, Britt or Stefanik yet? The hate Trump movement will be a major influence especially with independents and the ghost Bush followers will be seeking revenge hoping to reclaim the party.

Charisma??? On what alien planet?
Interesting juxtaposition between the 2 letters; one for contemplation of the spirit of the Christmas season, the other speculation of a political event 3 years away. Choose wisely.
Exactly! Sadly, my town has become very Lib/Progressive. Those folks continually post their agendas and events on FPF, and that apparently is okay. It is not okay in my opinion, and it certainly is/was not how it was prior to the “take-over” of Vt. by “those folks”.
No problem with our listserv here where church services and what they will be about are regularly posted. Political events can also be posted but both must have a tie into being local. When it gets beyond the local bounds is when the Moderator for our town listserv weighs in. Seems to work well.
Did I hear someone say “elections”? I thought those concerns about who will win are a thing of the past? Today, with the new and improved progressive system, you simply hand your ballot to someone you’ve never really met, who in turn sends it out-of-state to a deep blue processing center. Those guy’s in the central, Hartford, CT, processing centers know what they are doing! They will correct any deficiencies in your ballot.
Geeesh. C’mon guy’s. Get up with the times.
