U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Florida, has introduced a bill to ban the Internal Revenue Service from acquiring ammunition.

The Disarm the IRS act would ban the agency responsible for tax enforcement from purchasing ammunition after the agency already has stockpiled more than 5 million rounds.

This year alone, the IRS has purchased $725,000 worth of ammunition, Gaetz said.

“I’m not against stockpiling ammunition, but you shouldn’t have to be a D.C. accountant to do it; you ought to be a mechanic in Pensacola,” he told Fox News. The Biden administration wants to “disarm Americans, open the border, empty the prisons,” and “still collect your taxes” with $725,000 worth of ammunition to do it, he said.

The bill would need to pass the House Ways and Means Committee before it’s considered by the full House. Republican Reps. Jeff Duncan of S.C., Paul Gosar of Arizona, and Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia cosponsored the bill.

“Why is Biden trying to weaponize the IRS?” Duncan tweeted. Rep. Gosar tweeted they needed to disarm “this band of highwaymen and stop them from taking our money under the threat of violence.”

According to a Government Accountability Office report, in 2018, there were 2,148 law enforcement officers working for the IRS’s Criminal Investigation Division. They were armed with 4,461 weapons, including 15 fully automatic weapons and more than 5 million rounds of ammunition.

The division investigates “potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law.”

“The American system of taxation is based on the premise that all income is taxable (which includes illegally earned income),” the IRS states. “In many instances, proving that a taxpayer willfully attempted to hide income from the Federal Government is an integral part of proving other criminal activity including fraud, money laundering or Bank Secrecy Act violations. Criminal Investigation continues to fulfill the important role of helping to ensure the integrity and fairness of our nations’ tax system.”

Two years later, the 2018 stockpile increased more. According to a 2020 OpenTheBooks.com report, “The militarization of the U.S. Executive Agencies” included the IRS having 2,159 special agents, the spending of $21.3 million on guns, ammunition and military-style equipment between fiscal years 2006 and 2019, which included a stockpile of more than 4,500 guns.

  1. Don’t get it ? It is really quite simple. The more ammunition the Government buys, the less ammunition there is for “We The People”. There are already shortages. The availability of loaded ammunition is coming back slowly, but try and find components for reloading . Primers are just not available, Bullets are spotty. Shot for shotguns, $60.00 to $80.00 a bag. Guns may be selling in record numbers, but what good are they if you can’t feed them ?

  2. Well, the Democrats have just introduced a bill that will add 86,000 new I.R.S. agents. They must figure they are going to have a need for it.

    • Bingo. When the tax revolt starts, they will simply broadcast that the IRS agents are heroes for going out and putting down the insurrection and seizing the property that “rightfully” belongs to everyone. Any information to the contrary will be censored by the disinformation board (still operating in the background, never fully revoked). The scary thing is that so many people have been bullied and brainwashed into thinking this new age socialism is “progress”. Even if only 30% of people go along with it, that will be enough to give the IRS credibility in the lens of the MSM.

  3. Or they’re just funding a local private United States army to go after people as they change the rules to ensure you don’t have the right to property.

Just saying that’s the Marxist communist agenda coming forward

  4. Let’s see they got five million rounds, and they are doubling the number of agents to approx. 172,000 agents. That’s 29 rounds per agent to shoot us with. That doesn’t even fill a thirty-round magazine. Oh, you mean they can have thirty round magazines, but we can’t?

  5. I guess that is where my refund went – I was thinking it went to the Ukraine. Can I get the equivalent of what is owed to me in ammo?

  6. On one side I know shooting accurately is a perishable skill, so I see a practice need. On the other side, that is a lot of ammo for one agency to have on hand.

    • The U.S. Government has priority over civilians when it comes to ammunition supplies. What better way to disarm “We the People” than to make sure we don’t have ammunition to feed our firearms ???? I would imagine that in an emergency that the government would also have priority when it comes to petroleum when it is needed in “defense” of our country. Prez. Bozo is on a mission to deplete our “strategic reserve”. That will need to be replenished. Do you think that this treasonous pin head will wait until the prices drop like Trump did, before he takes this away from us to fill the reserve he has depleted ? Better get a wood stove and buy more blankets !
