Informed consent for child vax goes to House floor today

After years of advocacy, supporters of informed consent for child vaccinations are scheduled to see their issue get a vote on the floor of the Vermont House today.

H.545 contests new federal recommended guidelines for vaccination set forth by Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. However, an amendment to H.545 – not approved in committee but proposed by Rep. Greg Burtt (R-Cabot) – would allow civil action against a prescribing health professional in cases of gross negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct. Burtt’s amendment also would require that:

“Prior to prescribing, dispensing, or administering a recommended immunization, a health care professional shall provide the patient or, if the patient is a minor, the patient’s parent or guardian with written information disclosing all potential harms, risks, and side effects associated with the recommended immunization and provide disclosure of the health care professional’s immunity….. Prior to administering the recommended immunization, the health care professional shall obtain written acknowledgement of receipt of the information required by this subdivision from the patient or, if the patient is a minor, from the patient’s parent or guardian.”

House Human Services took testimony from Vermont vaccine freedom advocates arguing for language similar to Burtt’s amendment to be included in the floor version. The language was not accepted.

The House convenes at 3 PM today. H.545 is the first agenda item. Interested Vermonters may contact their legislators at 802-828-2228 (Sergeant-At-Arms office) or by emailing them directly.

Burtt’s amendment is supported by Vermont Stands Up and Children’s Health Defense, the organization begun by RFK Jr. VSU and CHD argue that the U.S. vaccine schedules supported by supporters of H.545 recommend administering far more vaccines for more diseases than any other Western country, and are heavily influenced by Big Pharma-led legislation and regulations.

  1. Good to see some GOP Bills getting a chance to get off the wall. Greater transparency in vaccines is much needed. Thank you for starting the process.

  2. The legislature AND the school system has no place in personal health related decisions.
Those areas are determined by a minors parents and guardians, PERIOD!!
Given the misinformation and censorship that occurred during COVID, and the attack on personal Liberty, all of this must end.

  3. Read 18 V.S.A. § 1130, free vaccines for all is the law. The new bill allows the State to adjust the scope of the recommended schedule. Betcha this popular in many States because pharma’s lobbyists dont want to lose market with a reduced federal schedule. Burtt’s amendment will hurt pharma. I am all for it, but good luck with that.

  4. They vaccinated my 4-year-old client with an experimental COVID jab AGAINST his parents’ clear directions, after being assured it wouldn’t happen. Then the Vermont Supreme Court ruled the family had no right to sue. Now, Vermont wants to jab more kids against CDC recommendations and grant immunity to those who do it!! This is obscene and unconscionable. This bill should be passed — why would anyone enroll their children in schools with such sweeping powers and zero accountability?

    • I would think that the short period of time between the needle puncturing the skin and the pushing of the plunger, after aspirating the needle, would constitute assault, even if only a few seconds. About the same time it takes to pull a trigger.

  5. Montpelier works for lobbyists, in this instance, big pharma. They represent other lobbyists too. They do not represent the people. They do not represent the constitution.
