I-89 road rage incident leads to aggravated assault charge

A Swanton man is facing felony charges following a reported road rage incident on Interstate 89 in South Burlington late last month. Vermont State Police say that at about 9:08 a.m. on Dec. 22, troopers were notified of an altercation between motorists on I-89 northbound near mile marker 88. Investigators developed probable cause to believe that Caron Adams, 34, of Swanton, pointed a firearm at another driver during the incident.

On Jan. 5, troopers from the Williston Barracks, assisted by the St. Albans Barracks, took Adams into custody without incident. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment, processed, and released on conditions. Adams is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on May 27, at 8:30 a.m.

Wanted man turns himself in

Tristan “TJ” Dunster, 40, of Duxbury, who was the subject of a statewide attempt to locate, turned himself in to law enforcement on Jan. 6, according to Vermont State Police.

Dunster had been sought in connection with a Dec. 29 incident and was wanted on charges including first-degree aggravated domestic assault, burglary, criminal threatening, and violation of conditions of release. Bail had been set at $50,000. Additional court details were not immediately available.

DUI arrests

• Mendon/Killington: On Jan. 6, at about 7:32 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle after reports of a potentially impaired driver traveling on Route 4. Police identified the operator as Aaron Grammer, 42, of Williamstown, who displayed signs of impairment. Grammer was arrested for DUI and cited to appear in Rutland Superior Court on Jan. 26, 2026, at 10 a.m.

• Randolph: On Jan. 6, at about 7:15 a.m., troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-89 northbound near mile marker 29.2. The driver, Ben Goldschlager, 29, of Westport, Connecticut, was transported to Gifford Medical Center and showed signs of impairment. Goldschlager was processed for DUI-Drug and cited to appear in Orange County Superior Court on March 25, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.

Domestic assault arrest

At 9:27 AM Jan. 5, State Police were were dispatched to the report of a domestic assault in Lunenburg. Investigation revealed that Kyleigh Egan (27) of Lunenburg had committed the offense of Domestic Assault. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing, then released and issued a citation to appear in Essex County Superior Court.

    More “newcomers” (possibly?) eager to reside in Vermont in order to take advantage of her beautiful vistas, healthy lifestyle, and outdoor & sporting recreational opportunities!!!

    Oh wait….I guess I mean in order to take advantage of the state’s soft-on-crime policies and the general non-prosecutorial stance of this judicial system.
