The National School Choice luncheon is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday Jan 27, coordinator Brad Ferland said.
This event celebrates Vermont’s school choice history since 1869.
“We are meeting at the Capitol Plaza in Montpelier at 11:00. We have a press conference at 11:20 and then will have a quick photo on the State House lawn. We have National School Choice Week scarves for everyone to have and keep,” Ferland said.
There are two featured speakers: Hera Varma from Florida about how school choice changed her life, and Vermont’s Rhetta Dunlop on how home schooling has prospered in Vermont. There will also be a surprise guest from the pages of Vermont history.
There will also be an update on a Vermont School Choice lawsuit. Several legislators are likely to attend as well.
Lunch is provided for all who attend at no cost. There is a large banquet room and limiting seating at each table to give everyone plenty of space.
“Please come and join us. You can just show up tomorrow. It would be helpful to send Brad Ferland a text or email that you’re coming,” said Ferland, whose contact info is Bferland@together.net or 802-999-2633. Some travel reimbursement is available for participants.
