There is at least one simple but glaring mistake in this presentation. Specifically, Vermont Public claims that Vermonters spend $2.3 Billion on PK – 12 education. Meanwhile the Agency of Education announced that it spends $2.7 Billion.

Is spending $0.4 Billion extra a big deal? You bet. $.4 Billion is $400 Million more than advertised. And why is the funding system so complicated? Don’t kid yourself. It’s by design. In this case it’s an easy way to slip an additional $400 Million on to taxpayers.
