Gymnastics coach busted for voyeurism in Waterbury

A Massachusetts gymnastics coach was cited by state police for voyeurism at a Waterbury academy during the week of July 10-14, following a report received by the Berlin Barracks on July 15.

Jonathan Girard, 39, of North Adams, Massachusetts, allegedly made video recordings in the bathroom of Central Vermont Gymnastics Academy, which is located on Demeritt Place in Waterbury.

Police say Girard was working as a visiting coach. He is the owner of J Star Gymnastics in North Adams, MA.

The computer believed to hold these recordings was seized with assistance from the North Adams Police Department. Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted a subsequent investigation, which included digital forensics analysis that located evidence of the crime of voyeurism.

Girard, through his attorney, was issued a citation on Monday, August 7 to answer to the charge. He is due to appear for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Barre. – Republished from Newport Dispatch
