Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) says Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) should “apologize” for championing Graham Platner’s Senate candidacy in Maine, calling Platner a “predator.”

“I would really call Bernie Sanders to apologize for pushing this kind of predator more than anyone he helped,” Fetterman told Fox News host Laura Ingraham in an interview.

“So I don’t know why you want to keep pushing these kinds of people,” Fetterman added.

Fetterman suggested that Sanders should take a break from endorsing candidates, given how things are turning out in Maine, according to reporter Alexander Bolton of The Hill.

A former Platner girlfriend came out Monday in a report by Politico accusing him of having raped her. He quickly denied her claim.

The rape allegation was enough for Fetterman to call out Sanders backing Platner, who has been plagued with multiple sexual-abuse allegations.

“Maybe he should consider sit a few out and stop pushing these kinds of communists and people,” Fetterman  said, adding that Platner has “been credibly accused of rape.”

Platner was an unknown name until the likes of Bernie Sanders decided he was a good bet to take on five-term GOP Sen. Susan Collins.

With support from a heavyweight such as Vermont’s senior senator, Platner overwhelmingly won the U.S. Senate Democrat primary last month in Maine.

Sanders, who describes himself as an “independent,” caucuses with Democrats so he’s virtually one of them with the freedom of claiming independence.

In voicing early support for upstart Platner, he was out in front of Democrat leadership such as Democrat Chuck Schumer of New York, minority leader in the Senate.

While Bernie was staking out the socialist wing of the party to help his new buddy Platner, Schumer was supposedly playing it safe by backing Janet Mills, the two-term-limited Maine governor.

But Mills turned out to be a bad bet, losing the primary to Platner by some 50 points.

Sanders so far has been silent on whether he will pull the plug on the radioactive Platner, who reportedly is now considering quitting the race in light of the latest allegations of sexual impropriety lodged  against him.
