Fernandez: No media coverage, but the Israel-Palestine conflict still rages

Today’s biggest news is, of course, the war in Eastern Europe. The Russian invasion of the smaller, yet freer Democratic state of Ukraine is unequivocally transparent since Russia is the vicious predator. However, this does not seem the case with the Israel/Palestine Conflict, because the liberal media consistently portrays the Jewish state as a rapacious and unjust regime.

According to the July 27, 2020 website of Pars Today, a daily Iranian radio news program, Hamas rejected $15 billion in aid from major powers conditioned on dis-arming.

The same news item was later broadcast by Radio Rebelde, a Communist Cuban broadcast, whose website promotes “Revolution and Victory.”

According to their 7/28/2020 e-article, “Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement has turned down a $15 billion development aid offer…For years, Hamas has been defending the Palestinian cause against Israel.”

For what reason(s) would our North American media choose to ignore such significant information?  Perhaps because such reports do not support a pro-Palestinian narrative. Hamas and Hezbollah, obviously, do not want to give up their bloody war against the Jewish state.

A June 7, 2021  Newsweek article by Ali Al Nuami, Chairman of the Defense Affairs and Foreign Relations Committee of the United Arab Emirates Federal National Council, stated that “The Palestinian people’s rights and hopes have been hijacked by Hamas to serve an Iranian agenda.” Al Nuami, who helped design the Abraham Accords, the first peace pact between an Arab nation and Israel since 1994 wrote, “We also have to fight the war of propaganda-one that the Israelis lost in this last round of fighting between Israel and Hamas. I saw media narratives coming from not only the Middle East but the West too, which represented a shift… repeated over and over in the media, the way they speak about Gaza as if it’s occupied by the Israelis. It’s not. It’s occupied by Hamas. And the Palestinian people of Gaza are suffering because of Hamas, not the Israelis.”

That “Zionist occupation” of Gaza ended in 2005, but Hamas, a Jihadist terrorist organization, did not recognize and violently overthrew the Palestinian Authority’s democratically elected president, Mahmoud Abbas, who escaped with his life to the West Bank.  With $15 billion, the Palestinians could have constructed an independent “Singapore of the Sea,” which is what countless Gazans and Israelis, tired of being bombed by one another, sincerely desired.

On May 18, 2018, Col. Richard Kemp, the former commander of British Forces in Afghanistan, spoke before The United Nations Human Rights Special Council on Gaza: “I don’t think there has ever been a time in the history of warfare when an army has made more efforts to reduce civilian casualties and deaths of innocent people than the IDF (the Israeli Defense Forces) is doing today in Gaza… Hamas seeks the destruction of Israel and murder of Jews everywhere, deliberately caused over 60 of its own people to get killed. They sent thousands of civilians to the front line-as human shields for terrorists trying to break through the border.”

Fathi Hamad, a Hamas member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, said this on February 29, 2008: “For the Palestinian people, death is an industry, at which women excel… The elderly excel at this, and so do the mujahadeen and the children. This is why they have formed human shields in order to challenge the Zionist bombing machine….”

On March 13, 1977,  Zahir Muhsein, a PLO executive committee member, told the Dutch magazine, Trouw in a 1977 interview that,” The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity.”

What does all this say about our American media, when facts regarding this particular conflict are ignored because they do not support their pro-Palestine agenda? Two fascist nations, Iran and Cuba, had no problem broadcasting the aforementioned news. Why, because both Tehran and Havana side with the “Jihadist revolution and struggle against the occupying Zionists.”

After decades of contributing news and editorials for a pair of  Vermont daily news-papers, this reporter was blacklisted in 2016 for presenting similar  data regarding  this conflict. It seems that reality, which, in turn, always supports truth, is not fashionable or politically correct enough for the alt-left American media.

  1. An informative article. However, Israel is by no mean innocent. In the ’80’s it was common for fanatic supporters of Israel to physically attack other Jews who criticized Israeli policy. I was attacked 4 times. B’Nai B’Rith sponsored seminars where people were taught techniques for disrupting discussions of Israeli policy. I attended one. Israel claimed to plant a million trees a year, not mentioning that most were uprooted so that people could then visit and see new saplings with their names as sponsors adorning the sapling. Countless Palestinians were beaten, tortured, murdered. They were people whose homes were stolen at gunpoint. The litany is endless.
Now, as so often happens, Hamas has taken advantage, wanting nothing short of the overthrow of the State of Israel. Even the Rachel Corrie Foundation has become a front for violent revolution here and against Israel. (Carefully view video footage of her death. She literally jumped into the scoop of the bulldozer. Courageous but tactically questionable.
Yasir Arafat, Moshe Dayan, were honest. Netanyahu has committed atrocities, despite an underlying honesty. In such a scenario justice has become eclipsed.

  2. Israel is simply following the instructions of their holy(sis) book the Torah a fancy name for the first five books of the the Bible. Eliminate your non Jewish neighbors and take their lands is a prominent message. Claiming that god wrote these words let’s them off the hook for being evil. It’s a debased age old lie that exposes the grotesque side of humanity.

  3. It’s probably unlikely that a pro Israel article would garner favorable comments here in VT. I’d say most have drank the KoolAid of the pro Palestinian BDS sorts. I know from discussions with some of these people that they are truly ignorant of Israel, most having never even been there. But they read a book or article about it so “they know” I’m told. Actually, they don’t know. They just parrot back what they have been fed just like the Covidians have or the ant-Putin/Ukraine proponents do.

    • So Israel lays claim to be gods chosen people whatever made up childish thing that is. The so called holy book they hold dear instructs them to even kill non Jews and take their land so it seems Israel is doing their best to follow a contemptible old piece of writing which by the way was written by Jews how convenient. But to not look so silly and evil they claim these are gods instructions. Man made religious dogma can certainly bring out the worst in humanity. Instead of saying people are ignorant about Israel it would be nice if you could educate us.
