FBI raids pro-life leader’s home

by Steven Ertelt,

Joe Biden’s FBI has raided the home of a well-known pro-life advocate and arrested him in front of his crying children on a charge that had already been thrown out of court. Biden’s administration is coming under fire for weaponizing the FBI and Department of Justice to target pro-life conservatives.

Mark Houck, a father of seven, is frequently seen sidewalk counseling in front of Philadelphia abortion businesses to help women choose pro-life alternatives.

However, because a federal law protects access to abortion businesses, Houck was charged with violating it after a minor altercation, according to his wife.

In October 2021, Houck was counseling at an abortion business when a pro-abortion protester leading people into the building to have abortions threatened his son and yelled obscenities at him. Houck pushed the man away from his son to protect his child.

As National Review reports, “Houck also described an incident in which her husband “shoved” a pro-abortion man away from his 12-year-old son after the man entered “the son’s personal space” and refused to stop hurling “crude… inappropriate and disgusting” comments at the Houcks. The man did not sustain any injuries, but did try to sue Houck.”

Even though the charge was dropped over the summer, DOJ decided now was a good time to target Houck, raid his home and arrest him in front of his distressed children.

According to his wife, 25-30 armed FBI agents raided their home at 7:05 a.m. His wife said they entered the home and pointed rifles at them as their kids began screaming. His wife and kids watched and they arrested Mark. Per National Review:

On Friday morning, Houck’s rural home was raided by 25 to 30 armed FBI agents, who pounded on the door and yelled at the family to open it, his wife said.

Mark Houck pleaded with the FBI agents before opening the door, telling them “please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.”

The agents continued to yell, and when the door was opened, they pointed their guns at the Houcks while instructing the children to go upstairs, according to Ryan-Marie. “The kids were all just screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic,” she said.

The FBI agents proceeded to put Houck into a vehicle and when his wife asked if they had a warrant, she said that they replied that “they were going to take him whether they had a warrant or not.”

After she accused them of kidnapping her husband, they presented her with the first page of the warrant, she said, which showed he was charged with violations of the FACE Act, due to an alleged “ATTACK OF A PATIENT ESCORT.”

Biden’s Justice Department is now charging Houck with violating the FACE Act and Houck is now facing a maximum sentence of 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and fines of up to $350,000 for merely defending his son from being attacked.

  1. Harassing a female entering an abortion clinic, ain’t exactly the move of a ‘victim’. And the FBI Doesn t belong to, or work under Joe Biden. This is clearly slanted propaganda, which has no place in Vermont.

    • This is from

“Who monitors or oversees the FBI?

The FBI’s activities are closely and regularly scrutinized by a variety of entities. Congress—through several oversight committees in the Senate and House—reviews the FBI’s budget appropriations, programs, and selected investigations. The results of FBI investigations are often reviewed by the judicial system during court proceedings. Within the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI is responsible to the attorney general, and it reports its findings to U.S. Attorneys across the country. The FBI’s intelligence activities are overseen by the Director of National Intelligence.”

This organization falls within the executive branch.

If you’ve never prayed our counseled outside a PP, you may not have seen that the majority of harassment that goes on is against the person praying or counseling. I’ve never seen a sidewalk counselor that is intimidating or harassing. However, I’ve been harassed, shouted at, etc., mind you, on public property exercising my free right to speech (PP doesn’t own the women who are going to their clinic, so anyone should be free to speak to them and they sometimes are quite responsive to it). You’ll also see many scared young women being forced into these procedures by parents and partners. I encourage you to go for yourself and see what these sidewalk counselors are really all about – they’re some of the most compassionate people I know and do not get in anyone’s face about their choice, only attempt to provide alternatives should they wish to seek them.

    • All charges have previously been dropped. The fbi is clearly politicized and persecuting political foes of communism.

And under the United States Constitution ALL speech is protected.

  2. Who is next? Outrageous. What an unjustified use of force. Armed FBI agents terrorizing a family….what country are we living in again?

  3. Whatever happened, did it really warrant 25 or 30 armed federal agents? Do you know how much that costs and how much time our government must have invested in this!? This is an intimidation tactic. What a gestapo move. The totalitarians need to be voted out. But then again, totalitarians are not exactly known for election integrity …..

  4. To what lows has this Biden regime sunken? So distressing. This is the opposite of Justice from the federal Justice Department.

  5. Weaponized, political jackboots terrorizing, intimidating US citizens without due process of law. Life behind the iron curtain. The simple fact is what goes around comes around. The more desparate for full control, the more control they lose. God is watching it all. They cannot escape His judgment. The Lion is about pounce.

  6. The timing is purely political, before the fall elections while the democrat-friendly media is whipping up anti-pro-life sentiment…because it’s all they have got to go with. The lamestream media has the propaganda side covered, meanwhile the FBI continues to operate as the private enforcement and intimidation army of the democrat party. The democrat party now prefers the SWAT garb and suit and tie attire of the FBI over the uniforms of their former enforcement army, which wore white sheets and hoods, which they determined were unpopular among decent people.
Anyone who votes for democrats participates in and owns this totalitarian scenario.

  7. Thank you, Vermont Daily, for reprinting a news article from LifeNews, which has been identified by “fact-check” organizations as repeatedly printing stories from questionable sources and misleading information.

The article begins with “Joe Biden’s FBI” and concludes with “Biden’s Justice Department”, no bias intended. The only “reporter” of this story is the wife of the accused, so much for responsible journalism!

    • Even when Trump was Chief Executive and the FBI is part of the Dept. of Justice, and that is under the authority of the Executive Branch, the upper echelons of the FBI were, and still are pro-democrat. There is no denying that the democrat party has weaponized the FBI to do their bidding.

    • It’s interesting that you mention “fact-check” orgs. – have you dug into the source of the fact checkers? Do you know who funds them?

    • It’s amusing how leftists cite “fact-checking” and think people believe them. Fact-checking organizations exist largely to ensure the facts remain hidden.

  8. I think this was a Democrat FBI move to piss off conservative types right before the election to try and stoke a violent response. They want a reaction from the right so they can point at it and scream about violent domestic terrorist republicans. Look at the case of kidnapping Whitmer, far more agents than the 4 guys arrested were involved in the plot… and right before the presidential election. It seems so obvious that they are meddling again here with their recent domestic terrorism narrative about the right.

  9. Robert, it is unfortunate you can’t investigate a story reported in an acknowledged unreliable news source and are willing to accept the version told only by the wife of the alleged lawbreaker. It is equally unfortunate that you cannot engage in a discussion without name calling; however, I guess that’s acceptable these days in some political circles.
