Vermont State Police have arrested a Fairfax man on multiple felony charges following a shooting early Friday morning that left two people seriously injured.
Timothy Bickings Jr., 44, of Fairfax, is facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder, along with charges of aggravated domestic assault and reckless endangerment, police said. Bickings was arrested Friday afternoon and transported to the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans Town, where he is being held without bail pending his initial court appearance.
Bickings is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in St. Albans.
According to Vermont State Police, the shooting stemmed from a domestic situation involving individuals who all knew one another. The names of the victims are not being released.
The investigation began at about 1:20 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, when police received a 911 call reporting a shooting at an apartment building at 2 Fletcher Road in Fairfax. Troopers responded and found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported by Fairfax Rescue to Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans before being transferred to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington for further treatment. Police said their injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
This is not Bickings’ first encounter with the law. In January, 2024, he was arrested for violating conditions of release and for vandalism in Fletcher.
