Join host Paul Bean with guest, Senator Rocket, for an episode of Creemee Cast:
Senator Rocket describes himself as a Vermont story-teller and lover of food. Rocket is the founder of Eat Vermont. Eat Vermont a free online resource that is designed to connect the Vermont food scene. (And yes his name is literally Rocket).
Rocket said his goal with Eat Vermont is to connect everyone, to make things generally easier, more affordable, and more accessible for business owners and customers. Eat Vermont is an app that connects you to most restaurants in Vermont, if not all. The app also connects you to events, farmers markets, live music, and more.
“I think the closer you look at something the more you can find little details that separate us,” said Rocket on the show. “For me it’s like I’m more interested in what are the common like functional like features of human existence that bring us together.”
“So this idea of like, okay you you think this, you think that, have it out and then at the end of it, shut up we’re eating dinner right like everyone’s everyone has a seat at the table,” continued Rocket. “We’re all going to sit down we’re going to enjoy this meal together, like that’s cool so to me.”

Rocket says he is dedicated to celebrating life in the Green Mountain State and doing that with something that brings everyone to the table: FOOD. You might know him from some of his posts on Facebook. Rocket has a genuine love for Vermont’s culture, scenery, and quirks, as I am sure many of our readers do as well.
One thing Rocket described himself as was “a wild duck,” which basically meant he is one of those guys who for some reason has not been able to take a path in life was considered to be “normal.”
“I understand that and I accept and I embrace that that one duck that is not like the other ducks, you know?,” said Rocket “You might find more ‘wild ducks’ in a bigger city because there’s just more people. I also think that something about Vermont having small communities there’s this pressure to conform pick a team and conform to that team a little bit. Just because it’s like ‘yo we’re out here in the woods.’ We need to have a community sure, but for me… it’s like even if I wanted that I know I couldn’t do it. So it’s like I’m just going to publish the the stories I want to publish and I’m just going to drive hard into the into the paint.”
Rocket seeks to share stories and moments that capture the essence of Vermont life and the best of Vermont’s food scene. On his travels around the state he’s gathered a collection of stories and experiences. He is well spoken, articulate, and is genuinely a very good story teller. I think you will enjoy this conversation.
