A tragic single-vehicle crash occurred on Lake Street in Bridport late Christmas Eve or early Christmas morning, resulting in the death of 25-year-old Tyler A. Brouillard from Bridport.

Vermont State Troopers, along with local fire and rescue squads, responded to the scene at 3284 Lake Street in the Addison County town. Brouillard’s 2013 Dodge Dart was traveling north when it veered off the road onto the shoulder.

The vehicle then overcorrected, crossing the center of the road and exiting the west side of Lake Street, where it began to roll. Brouillard was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries.

Rain was falling, road conditions were wet and Brouillard was not wearing a seat belt, police say.

The Crash Reconstruction Team and Drone Team were deployed to survey the scene, leading to a temporary complete blockage of Lake Street. – Vermont State Police report via Newport Dispatch
