Baker: Becca Balint, the selective defender of the Constitution

by Pam Baker

Firstly, Representative Balint has made it exceedingly clear that she is not concerned with the due process rights of American Citizens.  However, she has repeatedly demonstrated a zealous concern with illegal and non-citizen’s due process under the US Constitution.  She has publicly called Mohsen Madhawi’s detainment by ICE as “immoral, inhumane, and illegal” but said not one single, solitary public comment about the detention of American citizens who were potentially and actually unconstitutionally detained in connection with the events on January 6th, 2021.  Not a peep.

Rep. Balint’s selective application of constitutional protections does a disservice to her constituents and all citizens of the United States. While immigration reform is vital, we must also recognize that the foundational principles of due process apply to all Americans, regardless of political affiliation. Ms. Balint doesn’t seem to be aware of the difference between Immigration law, which is civil and criminal law.  Highly unusual considering her resources.

However, this is not a mere reluctance to engage on certain issues; it is a pattern of bias and lack of integrity. Balint’s defense of constitutional rights appears to be based on the political or ideological identity of those affected, rather than on a consistent belief in protecting the rights of all individuals.

Regardless of how you stand on the actions of January 6th participants, her failure to speak out for the due process rights of January 6 detainees is more than a political choice; it is an indication of selective justice based on partisan or ideological alignment. This inconsistency undermines her credibility as a defender of the Constitution.

Due process should never be contingent on political loyalty. It is a fundamental right that transcends party lines and political movements. Rep. Balint’s inability to defend this right for all Americans — regardless of their political affiliation or beliefs — signals a serious lack of integrity in her leadership.

Secondly, Ms. Balint has sent out an email to her constituents berating President Trump for having “a military parade on June 14th, his 79th birthday”, with emphasis on “his 79th birthday”.  Maybe Ms. Balint is forgetful… but that is FLAG DAY as well.  And for the record, the LAST time this country had a military parade on this scale was in 1991 (Gulf War Victory).

Don’t you think Ms. Balint, that the 250th anniversary of the US Army is worth celebrating?  Don’t you think our veterans and active-duty service members and their families would like to see overwhelming support for what they had/have chosen to dedicate their lives to, honored and celebrated by the American people? She believes this is an unacceptable use of taxpayer money but was very upset that $43.4 Billion dollars scheduled to be spent outside the US by USAID on programs of dubious value, was eliminated.  She blithely mentions the VA cutbacks because obviously, the VA are above reproach in regard to waste/fraud/abuse of funds.  Her continued illogic and inconsistency are appallingly astounding.

Citizens of Vermont, is this someone you really want representing us?  You want someone who is blatantly biased?  Who repeatedly demonstrates her hypocrisy? Who uses her office as an activist platform instead of for the overall betterment of her constituents? It is time for Rep. Balint to stop selectively defending constitutional rights and to advocate for all citizens, regardless of their political leanings or past actions.  And it is time for someone else who truly represents all of the diverse citizens and residents of Vermont to take her place.

  1. Not only does she selectively defend the Constitution to her own liking, but she can not even recognize the form of Government we have in the United States, a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy. However, even if it were a true Democracy as she claims, she apparently does not believe that also since our current President won the Majority of the Popular vote in true fashion of Democracy and is decried as illegitimate . Further she along with most other Vermont elected officials care more about people in the Country illegally than US Citizens and our Representatives in DC see an illegal criminal as a ‘friend’ and another spends more time flying around the Country in a Private Jet while bloviating about Oligarchy than spending time in Vermont talking with constituents

    • The article by Pam Baker criticizes Representative Becca Balint for what the author sees as a biased and inconsistent approach to constitutional rights. Baker argues that Balint vigorously defends the rights of non-citizens, like Mohsen Madhawi, while ignoring alleged due process violations against American citizens, specifically those detained in connection to January 6th. The piece accuses Balint of applying constitutional principles selectively based on political ideology rather than universal standards. Truth

The author also rebukes Balint for criticizing a proposed military parade on Trump’s birthday, pointing out it falls on Flag Day and coincides with the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. Baker finds it hypocritical that Balint objects to this display of patriotism while supporting large foreign aid spending and overlooking waste within the VA. The article ends by urging Vermont voters to consider electing a representative who consistently defends the rights and interests of all constituents. Truth

    • Exactly! Our Congressional Representation is totally useless and an embarrassment! They are not supporting the will of the American people just their own personal agendas. The people let them know in November what we expected of them. They were elected to represent us and do what we expected of them not do what they believe in personally! The majority of the American voters told them we want illegal immigrants deported from our Country. We do not want our taxes spent supporting people who aren’t citizens and don’t qualify for our tax funded services. They don’t belong in our schools, on our Medicaid rolls or receiving Social Security! They don’t qualify for our housing! They are draining our State and National Resources! Our State is spending our tax money to help keep them from being deported and obviously local farms feel protected to hire them! This is not what we voted for and it’s time they realize they need to step up and do the jobs the were elected to do now!

  2. A paid for pawn, million dollars to hold office and do as she is told by the United Nations, Agenda 2030, she does not work for Vermonters or the constitution.

    • A government financial waste, $175,000 salary paid by honest hard working citizens. Given time, she’ll get over a million(s). Sanders became a millionaire this way. People that voted for her are illiterate and blind to reality. And she’s from Germany and doesn’t know America.

    • According to two different (and questionable) news sources, in a bit over 2 years she has become a millionaire. Now worth 1.2 million dollars. She’s a veritable magician.

  3. Once again, Pam Baker has spoken for the patriotic American citizen. Becca Balint does not represent those of us who love our country, believe in the Constitution and want justice for all, regardless of political affiliation. Many of us Vermonters are not left-wing radicals and we just want to return to the American values that made our country great. Becca Balint has got to be voted out!

    • Thank you Althea for your generous and kind words. Ms. Balint has to GO.
And VIP 1, trust me, Ms. Dodge has not voted dem/prog… Not sure why you said that!

  4. Thank you for speaking truth in the darkness of Vermont Pam Baker.

  5. Perhaps we all need a gentle reminder about all the illegal PAC money she got from out of state special interest and crypto thieves she claimed( and still dies) she knows nothing about. She has mastered being part of the machine quickly. Next stop Senator Balint post Bernie. Can’t wait for the TV advertisements and their funding sources.

    • According to two separate news sources, she is now worth 1.2 million USD. In just over 2 years in the federal legislature. She’s a magician!!!

  6. Thank you for your excellent article, Pam Baker. The gaslighting, hypocrisy, and lack of integrity must continue to be called out at every opportunity.

Just as Balint has been silent about the egregious weaponization of the DOJ in violating the rights of the peaceful January 6th protesters, she has also not uttered a peep about the same thing done to Mark Houck https://www.liveaction.org/news/pro-life-group-mark-houck-lawsuit-doj/

The DOJ engaged in terrorist-like activity when it arrested these peaceful protesters and Mark Houck at their homes with an insane and grossly inappropriate amount of intimidation, manpower, and firepower in its railroading of these patriotic, life-loving, legal US citizens.

    • Mr. Green, I do believe the DOJ “kidnapped” Mr Houck!! It is outrageous. Ms. Balint should have been up in arms over this…. but obviously she is a selective defender of the Constitution!! She is a hypocrite of the first order.

  7. Every elected government office holder and every military member takes a similar oath to protect and defend the Constitutions of the state and the republic. One constitutional provision is equal protection under the law. The Constitution is the highest law of the land. Selective protections are repugnant to the Constitutions. That equates to mal administration, an offense leading to removal from office.

    • Mr. Codding, you are absolutely correct. I have taken that oath many times in my military service. She is and her actions are repugnant to the Constitution and to every patriot in the land. If I were a lawyer or was independently wealthy, I would put every energy into removing her from office. As it stands, I use the tools I have which is to call out her mal intentions and actions and let the people know as well as actively work for her opponent. Which very well may be Mr. Mark Coester… I invite you to do the same! We can use all the help we can muster.

  8. In response to VIP 1, I did not vote for Becca Balint but, nonetheless, she got elected and is supposed to listen to ALL her constituents, not just the ones that agree with her agenda. Whenever I contact her or any other Vt Democrat, the message in the response is basically, “I hear you, but I know what is best for Vt–you don’t.” Which is exactly why many voters do not bother to contact their representatives,( whether they voted for them or not). What happened to open-mindedness?

    • What about the 260 million people that didnt vote for Trump? They are now under his care and protection, the same way they were under Bidens care and protection. It’s a pipe dream to think the person you didn’t vote for will protect or respect any of your interests. You dance with the ones that brung ya -Ronald Raegan.

    • Mr. Cunningham, each President and every other servant of the federal administration has taken an oath. They violate their oath. This is a blatant lack of integrity. Yes, we must endure whoever is in office, but it doesn’t mean we don’t speak out, we don’t bring their mal intentions, bad deeds and poor leadership into the light of day for all to see.

    • Nevertheless, they DO need to hear from us, in ever greater numbers. Until they are replaced.

  9. How do we rid our state of Balint?

I’m sure that I don’t have any concrete answers. But we’ve got to start to fight now. It’s going to take money, a constant barrage of information like this article is putting out
and prayer for the Lords will to be done.

Who will run against this woman and what help will we be given by our GOP chair Paul Dame?

    • By getting rid of all of the Progressive Communists first.

    • We need to get rid of all three of our stooges, but Chittenden County is in control of Vermont and they are so liberal it is sickening.

    • Ms. Pitre, I can recommend many actions we can take to get her out of the government. She does have the right to live in this state but that doesn’t give her the right to do what she does.
#1- sign up for her emails and reply to them honestly, without emotion or histrionics/drama, and use as many facts as you can gather.
#2- take that email and send it to every editor of every news outlet in the state for publication as a letter to the editor.
#3- join your local Republican Committee and/or become a Justice of the Peace. It is a very simple action and a good one to ensure the voting processes in your town are legal and above board. Speak to the other members. If your town Republican committee isn’t organized, let me know here or via Mr. Page and I will get you started. Easy to do.
#4- send you emails/letters to the editor to the Governor, the Speaker of the House of Representatives (Fed) and anyone else you think might be useful. Then promote it on social media.
#5- start campaigning for her opposition.
#6- live by example. Be forthright, honest, loving towards your fellow humans, and brave and stand for the truth.
I wish you the very best and am available should you have concerns, ideas, etc…
      Best, Pam Baker

  10. Becca Balint, this is what you get when you have a DEI hire, inept comes to mind, just another black eye for Vermont politics., and as she states ” I’m a scrappy little dyke ”
    isn’t that impressive !!

    Wake up people

  11. Re: Becca Balint, the selective defender of the Constitution?

No, it’s more like following the agenda of her elite Progressive Communist masters.
How do you think she is now worth 1.2 million dollars. Thank You Pam!

  12. Balint is nothing but an opportunist looking to inherit Marxist Bernie’s Senate seat…she caters to the snowflake voters who cruise the streets like clueless sheep roaming in the pastures doing anything astray their masters dictate. When will we ever elect a native Vermonter to Congress…these outsiders are evil infiltrators.

  13. When you attack the United States seat of government and kill police officers and maim others, when you chacmse lawmakers like the ugly mob the offenders were, when the fbi and other legal authorities identify you, arrest you and book you, bring you before a court of law and you plead or are found guilty by applicable legal standards, and sentenced, you have received your constitutional due process..no question and no comparison to what the chief felon is unlawfully doing. If you see it otherwise, you are bending the ark on the light to a point of distortion.

When the USA sets the standard and makes commitments to others that advance our standing and influence in the world as well as perform humanitarian services to improve conditions around the world we are enhancing our status and national security.

When the federal government cuts my access to my VA benefits because DOGE invaded this and other agencies and fired people who are subject matter experts and dedicated federal servants of the people and those of us willing to sacrifice our lives for our fellow citizens, and spend millions of dollars on a parade that is only intended to stroke the ego of a felon. Who is licking his chops waiting for the next violation of the emoluments provisions of the federal constitution, never mind the obvious security risk and expenditures necessary to strip the plane to check for spie technology that our enemies are just waiting to get hold of, no, I can’t justify a parade and related cots of this so-called patriotic event.

I could go on with actual facts and reason, while tossing in the real laws that are supposed to apply and govern ALL, but I’m afraid it will be lost on all those who some how see this as Becca’ s personal agenda. You either know and apply the constitution and our American history or you don’t…I do, most loud mouths sounding off and blaming others, don’t.

    • Ms. Barbour, it appears to me that you are factually and woefully ignorant regarding the DUE PROCESS requirements under the Constitution and the actual experiences and treatment of the individuals arrested for their participation on January 6th, 2021 at the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. May I suggest you look into this with greater academic thoroughness and seek sources outside your usual bailiwick?
Your viewpoint is yours and you are entitled to it based on the First Amendment to the Constitution. I thank you for sharing it here. I do want to leave you with one last piece of unsolicited advice… if you are pointing fingers at someone in an accusatory manner, there are three fingers pointing back at yourself. Have some intellectual honesty and some humility to say, I may need to educate myself some more. If you don’t, then you are among the many who fail to heed the truth. I wish you Godspeed in your endeavors.

    • I certainly hope Ms. Barbour, that you are not the attorney who practices in Randolph Center. That would not be a smart business move for you to publicly misunderstand the Due Process under the Constitution. Maybe you should ask Mr. Page to remove your comment. If however, you are not an attorney, then my previous comment stands.

  14. Runs as a centralist, but as soon as elected, turns hard left, and shows her true colors, and they are NOT the Red ,White and Blue.

Vote her out next election, don’t let her utilize the power of incumbency, at taxpayer expense, I might add, to remain in office for life… like the other crooks…2 million in one term?

    She’s learning sell out fast.

    VOTE HER OUT!
