On July 23, during a 3-hour time span, the Barre City Police and Fire Departments responded to four separate reports of overdoses, none of which were fatal.
One of the individuals reported smoking what they believed to be crack cocaine prior to overdosing. While fentanyl has been a concern, the drug xylazine, a non-opiate sedative used in veterinary settings, is now being used illicitly and is often being mixed with other drugs such as fentanyl and cocaine.
Xylazine, also known as Tranq, also causes the breakdown of flesh after repeated usage (see photo).

I’ve watched the effects of tranq all across Barre. The State, the supposed “caring” liberals of the city, they are content to give them needles to all-but-blatantly assist in their eventual suicides.
That’s it, Libs, keep giving these people needles!
population control is gaining speed///
If you look on Vermont digger, surely, you’ll find it’s because of the police. All our crime and drug problems are because of our Vermont State police, if we were only to reduce our law enforcement like Burlington, things would be so much better.
Hey, maybe we can out do Burlington and get rid of all police, surely that would stop all drug dealings, criminals and murders….
Is it really possible to save drug addicts from OD’s? Look at his/her arm….that person deliberately and knowingly did that to themselves. Somewhere in that person’s past they made a choice to stick that first needle in their arm. They chose to make shooting up more important than everything else. They chose to risk their lives shooting up God knows what. Doesn’t matter how much money the state throws at this problem….you cannot make an addict choose to give up something they love. Again…look at the picture. You have to really love that high to do that to your body. This was their choice and yet we are the ones responsible for them when they OD. The Vermont liberal way of life….no responsibility for the addict or criminal….they had a tough childhood you know. Yes, I realize not every addict is a lost soul…some have fought their way out of addiction…by choice.
