As reported in April by VDC, 199 Vermont schools have adopted a Vermont Agency of Education policy allowing schools to withhold students’ preferred gender language from parents.

As reported by VDC April 21, national education watchdog group says dozens of Vermont school districts have policies that may allow student gender transitions to be kept from parents, according to a report released April 20.
Defending Education identified 37 Vermont school districts and supervisory unions — representing 199 schools and more than 52,000 students — with policies it says permit staff to withhold information about a student’s gender identity from parents in certain circumstances.
The report also states that many of the same policies allow students to participate in sports and use facilities based on their gender identity.
The group’s findings are based in part on guidance issued by the Vermont Agency of Education, specifically its 2016 “Best Practices for Schools Regarding Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Students.” That document has been used as a model for local district policies across the state, according to the report. The 2016 policy can be viewed, and downloaded, in the report.
Among the districts listed are Burlington School District, Champlain Valley Unified School District, Montpelier Roxbury School District, and Winooski School District, along with numerous supervisory unions statewide.

Parents, not the schools (or education agencies) have the sole responsibility in the guardianship of their children. It used to be only Chairman Mao would disagree – but now the cancer has spread here.

Exactly, Neil. The two cases are all about the state seeking to destroy and usurp parental authority and exert absolute control over every aspect of our lives. Ultimately, this is the end game of all Marxist/Communist/Progressive ideology and policy. And Planned Parenthood spends insane amounts of money to deceive our federal and state legislators to help them accomplish their sinister goal.
Unbelievable. Political correctness foaming at the mouth. Unborn children are being murdered on an industrial scale, and perhaps soon parents will be targeted for violence by feral left wing activists.
Talk about backwards! No information may be withheld from parents. Period. Full stop! The kids do NOT belong to the government. These so-called “educators” seem to break the law and all common decency at every turn. They may be highly educated on paper, but damned sure didn’t learn our commonly held beliefs. Either that or their parents never taught them anything. I guess it will take a law being passed that the school system may only withhold information from parents after clear and convincing evidence has been presented to the proper Judicial Authority and a ruling has been issued, in writing, with notice being given to said parents.
My son turned 12 last October and they made me leave the exam room to go over his rights with him, taking my right to his medical records away from me.
A 12 year old Type 1 diabetic. They were upset when I stopped bringing him to doctors appointments. If I don’t know I cannot take care of him you morons!!

Thank you Marie for going national on this subject. It’s about time Vermont gets looked at under a microscope for everything they are doing to kids behind parents backs. No wonder test scores are so bad— teachers are complicit and working with democrats to hid these practices from parents. Vote democrats out in every state and federal race NOW and for always because they don’t have your child’s future at heart-they only care about themselves and keeping socialized governmental control.
Another reason the Vermont Principals Association (VPA) needs to be defunded and discontinued. That horrid group is supporting all this BS!
Geesh, I remember that the schools couldn’t give me Tylenol without my parents’ permission. If this stuff was healthy for the children which none of it is, then why is there a need to hide it from anyone. What a guilty coconscious maybe. My child graduated from high school in 2002, and I don’t ever remember them hiding anything from me. This garbage that they are pushing now is unbelievable (for lack of an appropriate word) How many of our kids now, know how to read and write cursive writing? Know how to read an analog clock? Balance a checkbook? I had to take a Home Etc course to learn all this, and I bet they don’t offer that anymore to today’s students because they are to D*** busy teaching them that they are not the sex that they were born with and other disgusting sexual things that start when they are in preschool for crying out loud. All I can say about this world is “Come Jesus Come” because those who have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and live for him know exactly where they are going.
First point: The state education agency should not be involved in such topics. Second point: Schools must not be involved in any alternative lifestyles (calling kids something that they are not) Third point: There are no ‘transgender’ people, no amount of drugs or surgery can alter a persons gender.
School staffs are predominantly white female liberals and they seem to have control of the agenda. The results are stomach churning.

Stop pushing this crap on us and our kids. There are only two genders male and female. That is the way God made us. If you don’t know which one you are then look down your pants, you will get the answer right away.
