  1. I recently attended Front Porch Forum’s presentation before the Colchester-Milton Rotary Club, where I had the opportunity to question co-founder Michael Wood-Lewis about the platform’s content moderation policies and its history of removing or restricting elected officials, candidates, and community members whose viewpoints fell outside what moderators deemed acceptable.

The ensuing discussion was revealing. Mr. Wood-Lewis relied heavily on terms such as “misinformation,” “disinformation,” and “malinformation” to justify moderation decisions—language that has become increasingly common in debates surrounding online speech and content control.

What struck me most, however, was not Mr. Wood-Lewis’s response, but how quickly the conversation itself was curtailed. Before meaningful dialogue could continue, the Rotary president ended the exchange, limiting further discussion of issues that many Vermonters view as important to civic participation and free expression.

As a business owner, nonprofit leader, show host, and Milton resident, I left disappointed. Community organizations should be places where difficult questions can be asked and answered openly, especially when those questions involve platforms that play a significant role in shaping local public discourse.

Whether one agrees with Front Porch Forum’s moderation practices or not, transparency, accountability, and the free exchange of ideas remain essential to a healthy community.

    • Thank you, Matt Kelly, for questioning Michael Wood’-Lewis at the public forum. Deeply disappointed the discussion was shut down. FPF moderators are not the arbiters of truth. In fact I believe they might be guilty of election interference due to policies that censored conservatives’ submissions to FPF. I would join a class action lawsuit.

  2. “Employee-owned” just like Gardeners Supply was when it’s owner sold out and shortly went bankrupt and was bought out by a competitor. That would be fitting for that propaganda outfit FPF.
